Amish Breakfast Casserole

This was good but not wow. People ate it but nobody commented on it. I used italian sausage, added an extra egg and added green peppers. Even still, the flavor seemed to be lacking. Like I said, it was good but with all the other egg casserole recipes out there this one isn't getting saved in my recipe box.

Taco Pasta Salad

It wasn't bad-it just didn't really do it for me (or the rest of my family.) Nobody went back for seconds. We love Taco Salad and we love Pasta salad-but those are things enjoyed best on their own. If you are known for serving great pasta salads (and I am) skip this. If you don't both you and your guests will be left disappointed.

Shrimp and Crab Bisque

FANTASTIC!!! However one important thing to note-the serving size is not 6. I should have known better when looking at the measurements of the liquid ingredients-it's only 2 cups. I made a few changes-added garlic, used black pepper rather than white, used whole milk since I was out of half & half, substituted extra milk for wine and only used shrimp. The results were wonderful! As other reviewers noted, this would be excellent as a pasta sauce-maybe thicken it up a bit for a seafood lasaqna.

Hash Brown Casserole II

Good traditional hashbrown casserole recipe. A must in comfort foods! I prefer to make it with cubed hashbrowns rather than shredded. For an extra kick I mixed salsa into part of it for my husband and me. It was very good!

Very good. However, watch the heat closely. I slightly burned it which threw off the flavor of the entire dish. Even still, it was good. Will make agagin.

Tacos in Pasta Shells

Very good! My entire family enjoyed. I substituted salsa for taco sauce and used 6 oz cream cheese. I added garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, pepper, & oregano to add some flavor. I put the beef mixture into a baggie and piped it into the shells-very easy. Watch the cooking time-at 30 minutes my shells were getting a little crispy. Great recipe!

BBQ Glazed Homemade Meatballs

Fantastic!!! I have a different recipe I used for the meatballs, however I did make the sauce. The sauce was excellent!!! Some reviewers commented on it being too sweet---I thought it was perfect. I didn't make any changes to the sauce recipe. It smelled delicious while baking!

Oven Kalua Pork

FANTASTIC!!!! However I baked my in a tight-fitting casserole dish with about an inch of water. I was glad I checked on it early because it was at 200 degrees in about 3 1/2 hours.

Oatmeal Peanut Butter Cookies III

Delicious!!! The trick for me was to 1)refrigerate the dough, it made it much easier to handle (I could have added a little more flour, however the cookies turned out just perfect, I decided not too.) 2) I actually used a teaspoon measuring spoon and mounded the dough on it. (It looked tiny but as others posted, it spreads so much.) I used all of the filling. I beat it until it was nice and fluffy. Yes, it was sweet, but oh so good!

Burger or Hot Dog Buns

My first attempt at making my own buns! They were very good, but a little on the heavy side. I didn't have any problem with them being too flat. I will make them again. Hopefully I can get the "light and fluffy" buns that others got!

Soft Gingersnaps

Fabulous!!! As other reviewers suggested, keep the cookies in the oven until deep cracks form. I didn't on a few batches and found them still to be gooey on the inside although they looked done. I didn't have of the cookie in a glaze and sprinkled them with red and green sanding sugar. Very pretty!!!
