I am a mother of 2 boys. I started cooking after the birth of my oldest son. Cooking became my "me time" and is now very therapeutic to me. I love being in the kitchen and I love experimenting with new ingredients and trying new cooking methods.
My favorite things to cook
I've always loved to bake- cakes and pies, cookies, cobblers, muffins. Everyone always enjoys that kind of thing. My favorite thing though is to cook fancy dinners for our adult friends. I can be more creative with ingredients and presentation than usual when I'm cooking for my little boys!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Saturday evening my family cooks a themed meal. Our oldest son chooses a part of the world and we create a meal using recipes and ingredients that would be common to that region. It's become a great way to teach our kids about different cultures and gets them interested in trying new foods.
My cooking triumphs
Hmmm, I'd have to say cooking for my father. I don't get to do that very often and he is a phenomenal cook! So far, he's enjoyed every meal/ dish that I've made and even asked me for a few recipes!
My cooking tragedies
I don't really think I've had any actual tragedies. I've definitely made my fair share of mistakes but they have been on the small scale and I've just learned from them.
