Spicy Crab Pasta

I started off rating this a 4 and moved way up the scale to a 5! Use fresh garlic, tomatoe paste, extra tomatoes. Fresh basil and crab are nearly a must! I would recommend added the fresh crab towards the end of the cooking process. Let all of the flavors meld prior. This is sooooo yummy!

Awesome Red Wine Pot Roast

I followed the recipe with the exception of using beef broth in place of the water and added mushrooms. However, I didn't follow the method. I seared the roast, put it into the Crockpot, added the rest of the ingredients and cooked on low for 8 hours. An easy Sunday meal!

Cottage Cheese Chicken Enchiladas

My 2 teenagers thought this was great. My husband, thought it was the best enchiladas he's ever had! Now that's saying A LOT! The directions are weird. Step-by-step they didn't make any sense. I improvised and did what I thought they meant. I probably would add some cilantro and sliced olives next time.

Creamy Horseradish Garlic Spread

I used mild horseradish and would recommend using extra hot for meats. The mild tasted a little bit like ranch dressing with a zip. It does taste good as a vegi and chip dip. I added extra hot and that seemed to go well with the meat I served tonight. Good either way!

Capers and Halibut

I'd give this a 4.5. My husband made it for dinner and it seemed to take hardly no time at all. He said he would add more garlic next time. Used no salt and less butter. I really don't like capers, but I think I do now!

Pork Medallions with Port and Dried Cranberry Sauce

I really don't think I did anything wrong here, just too tart for my taste. Maybe I didn't reduce the vinegar out long enough? However, I have a similar way of cooking mushrooms in this kind of sauce. To give it a more mellow taste, I add 1/2 + 1/2.

Pleasant Pork Chops

Ok 3.5. The pork chops were tough. The sauce was great. I added a bit of fresh rosemary and a little bit of white wine. Probably will try again.

Baked Swiss Steak

I guess I just don't find swiss steak appealing, but my husband thought it was awesome! I probably tripled the Worch. The smallest cut of meat I could get was 1# so I doubled the recipe. Tonight, with the addition of Mexican spices, we are making burritos.

I would rather give this a 4.5. I followed the directions and found the amount of sugar to be too sweet. I would cut that to half next time and add more according to your own taste.

Spicy Garlic and Pepper Shrimp

The picture does not give justice to what this recipe looks like on a plate, ready for serving. It was rather elegant looking meal. The flavor was great. I think there might be additional items I will try next time. I did add some fresh lime juice. Next time, after the peanut scare, I might stir a little of that into the dish and maybe a little bit more heat. Thanks for the recipe!

Chili Rellenos Casserole

I used Enchillada sauce and black olives, too. Next time I'll add some fresh cilantro. I did something silly, thinking that the egg & milk weren't setting up so I gently stirred. Turned out more like scrambled eggs, oops! Super fast and easy to make!

Gingerbread Boys

I used molassas instead of the corn syrup and I don't know if that is why I had all of the problems I had. Five stars is for the taste of the dough and me not following the exact recipe. I refridg. overnight and had a hard ball the next day. After 2 hours it was still hard. I defrosted in the microwave 30 secs and added more butter. Things just got worse. Rather crumbly and dry. I should have followed the recipe - my fault.

Bacon Ranch Pea Salad

I served this as a side for Thanksgiving and nobody commented on it, ok only one. I did make this a day ahead and forgot to add more wet ingredients, because it was too dry from sitting over night.

Asparagus with Parmesan Crust

I liked the change, which was nice. I however, marinated my asparagus and I don't think I will do that again. Too greasy (not sure that was even why). I did enjoy the crustiness of the parma. though. I will make again.

My Country Style Steak

I don't like the dried onions in the soup mix, so I used a small sieve to leave those out. In place of water I used beef broth with excellent results. In addition to this recipe I made Wine Soaked Mushrooms from this site and was not over-eager to serve them on their own. So I added them to the gravy and everyone expressed how good the gravy came out. We have never made cubed steak for our 13 and 16-year-olds, so their opinion of the steak does not count; however, my husband and thought it was "spot on." TY for sharing.

Wine Soaked Mushrooms

I halved the recipe and the taste was just not there for me. This recipe seems similar to one of my favorites from a neighbor years ago, but not a replicate. I wanted so much to love this, but kept on having to add more flavor, because it was bland. However, I do recommend trying this and see what you come up with!

Easy Roasted Pork

Although a little too sweet (and I would adjust the ingredient amounts next time) this tasted great. My husband is excited to use the leftovers to add a spicy barbeque sauce and make pulled pork sandwiches tomorrow!

Smothered Green Beans

I am more inclined to rate this 3.5. I steamed the grean beans first (with a red pepper), drained most of the grease from the bacon, sauted the onion and garlic and then added the beans, pepper and bacon at the end. These were a nice change and I will probably make these again.
