About this Cook
Work full-time (financial advisor), married 24 years, 2 kids 10,13. Absolutley love to cook. Not into desserts. Specialize in Italian entrees and home cooked meals-chicken and dumplings, meat loaf, etc.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta, without a doubt.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas Eve-my family comes over and we have an elegant sit down dinner. We have prime rib, twice baked potatoes and a beautiful tossed salad. Happy hour is before dinner with a nice light appetizer and drinks. The last couple of years we have been fortunate in that Santa makes a personal visit to our home during happy hour. He comes in with a gift for each child...smoking a pipe and bringing in the good cheer. After dinner we go into the living room, kids play a few Christmas songs on the piano and then we open gifts. Truly magical.
My cooking triumphs
Having my mother believe that I am an exceptional cook.
My cooking tragedies
The only tragedy with cooking comes when I don't get to do it enough!

Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion
Apologies but this was average at best. The pork was not tender and the flavor was bland. It did smell good, but will not be making again.

Baked Penne with Italian Sausage
Very good but not quite 5 star. Added some seasonings (italian seasoning, salt, oregano) and minced garlic. Still could have used a little bit more...but I like lots of flavor.

Pizza Dough I
I made this exactly as written except added some garlic powder and oregano to dough. Mixed it all together with my hands and spread it out, put the sauce and other ingredients on top, and baked. Worked perfectly just as written. Very easy to make and with ingredients always have on hand anyway. Gets 5 star for ease in making but only 4 star for taste. Was good tasting just not quite 5 star.
