pumpkin shaped pound cake
About this Cook
I have a husband, two grown children and five grandchildren that I love to cook for and spend time with. I am a retired teacher and spend many of my days cooking and baking for my family and my church congregation.
My favorite things to cook
I really enjoy baking bread, everything from simple yeast bread and rolls to whole grain breads and rolls. I also bake sweet breads and quick breads as well as cakes and cookies. My favorite is All Recipe's "Clone of a Cinnabon" because it's always an instant hit with anyone trying it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love being with all my family at Thanksgiving because that's the only time of the year when we are all together in one place at the same time. On Thanksgiving Eve I cook a meal that could be Mexican, Italian, or whatever we decide on. Then the next day we have the traditional dishes served for Thanksgiving.

Italian Herb Bread I
I enjoyed the bread--It wasn't the very best I've tried but it was very good sliced, toasted with butter and cheese. You don't have to add any seasonings to the butter and cheese since they are already in the bread.

Apricot Brandy Pound Cake I
This pound cake tastes fantastic! And Ive never been a fan of pound cake before. The reason I tried this recipe is because I wanted to use my new pumpkin shaped bundt pans and Ive tried other types of cakes from ooey gooey to light and airy but the pound cake kept its shape and was very attractive after I decorated the top with fondant. Then I was really really pleasantly surprised at how flavorful and moist it was. The only thing I did different was putting some food coloring in the cake batter to make it pumpkin colored. Thanks for the recipe!
