About this Cook
I'm 24 years old, just married for little over a year. I'm getting my masters @ WSU in Pullman WA.
My favorite things to cook
I'm more of a baker - pies, cookies, cakes, holiday treats. But I do enjoy cooking for lots of people, having dinner parties is a lot of fun. I would have to say my favorite thing to cook is stir fry, cause you add whatever you want, any spices, any veggies, I've even used tofu and it was amazing.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas season my aunts and grandma make popcorn balls and holiday cookies.
My cooking triumphs
I love making birthday cakes, I even make my own frosting, it takes way better than store boughten. I've also cooked a Thanksgiving dinner with ease, I was very happy that I didn't burn the turkey or anything else.
My cooking tragedies
I once tried to make 2 lemon meringue pies by just doubling the recipe. One pie didn't have enough sugar and the other had so much no one would eat it, so from then on I have never doubled a recipe.

Seven Layer Taco Dip
This was the best taco dip ever, and it was a huge hit at my families annual wreath making party. The only changes I made was I excluded the lettuce cause it can get soggy, and the peppers and onion (only because I didn't have any) and I added guacamole. It was great, I heated it up just enough to melt the cheese and I used tostitos scoops for the chip. The only thing I would change is drain the salsa a little cause it can get watery over a long period of time.

Lemon Meringue Pie III
Great Pie,I'm not a huge fan of lemon meringue pie, but this was a very good recipe. My husband and sister-in-law (avid lemon meringue pie fans) loved it.

Yam Casserole
I have never had so many comments from a yam dish. I've had moms, grandmas and aunts tell me this is the best yam casserole they've ever had, and I've passed the recipe to them...In the yams I use brown sugar instead of white, and in the topping I don't add walnuts and use more cereal.
