About this Cook
I have two grown children, one new grandchild, and a wonderful partner. I am into all aspects of *off-the-grid* living, including organic gardening and preserving my own food. I checked intermediate for my cooking expertise level only because everytime i think that i have reached the advanced stage, a cake falls or bread comes out a little too chewey, it humbles me....
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook everything, however for some reason my cookies never turn out well. I collect almost every bread/roll/biscuit recipe that i lay my eyes on, but I especially love vegetarian one dish casseroles, soups, and stews. I like to cook anything from those rustic recipes to more complicated ones, depending on my mood.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to have biscuits on a sunday morning with Bed and Breakfast coffee, veggie sausage, and every single jar of preserves that i have, (a lot).
My cooking triumphs
When I made a perfect biscuit..after attempting them for about five years!
My cooking tragedies
I couldn't figure out why my cookies, which my ex-mother-in-law asked me to bake, didn't work out. They kept spreading all over the cookie sheets and to each batch I would add more flour to try to make the batter more stiff...only to find out that evening the reason that they were melting all over the place is because of instead of using flour..i was using her cannister of powdered sugar:)

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls
I was planning on making my grandmother's stuffed cabbage recipe tomorrow for my dad's birthday but could not remember what we used to top them with when i was a girl helping her to make them. I thought it was tomato soup but kept questioning myself, guess what, yours is the exact recipe she used, thanks!

Pecan Filled Cookies
These cookies are yummy. I only wish that the cookie part could be made ever so slightly less sweet. The filling is very nice, sweet, nutty, with a mild tang. Adding this one to my holiday favorites.
