About this Cook
I love cooking and I have been "testing" recipes on my husband and son for a few years now. My husband says, "practice makes perfect" because he has been much happier with my cooking latley, compared to when we were first married.
My favorite things to cook
I love making italian foods and baking. I can whip up some great appetizers too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I have been doing Thankgiving for a couple years now. I always give out tons of Christmas goodies too.
My cooking triumphs
I was finally lucky enough to get a kitchen aid mixer, so I've been making homemade breads with ease.
My cooking tragedies
One time before my husband and I were married I wanted to make him breakfast. I did'nt have my glasses on and I accidently used cumin instead of cinnamon (in my defense the container looked the same) You should've seen his face after the first bite. UGH!! Last year on Thanksgiving I caught a potholder on fire and the whole house filled up with smoke. The dinner ended up being GREAT though.

All-Day Apple Butter
Excellent idea! I filled up the crockpot with small diced apples. I only used 1 cup of brown sugar. I did not have cloves so I used allspice instead. YUMMY! I'll never buy applebutter again.

Asian Salad
Very good! I cut back on the oil and butter as others have done. I read the leftovers were not great and I only have my son and I to feed. So problem solved: I just keep the dressing and cooked crunchies (seperate) in the fridge and make up a small amount when we want some. If you have only tried the pre-packaged cabbage -you MUST try the real thing Napa cabbage is so much better.

Bacon and Date Appetizer
Sounds strange but SO delicious. Trust me try it. You can't eat many because of the richness, but Mmmmmmm. I used smoked almonds and thin sliced bacon, so it was crunchy. Keep you eye on them constantly and I turned them 1/2 way through.
