About this Cook
I am married, our son is 1yr old. I like to cook, laze around, play with our son, eat, eat and eat some more....and its starting to catch up to me....grrrr, but, as long as food tastes so yummy, I'll keep eating and eating and eating! Moderation...ya I know....but....FOOD!!! MORE MORE MORE!!!
My favorite things to cook
EVERYTHING!! I used to bake lots too, but I discovered I may be allergic to gluten, so I am laying off the baked goods, and all other things containing gluten for awhile until we know for sure. Things I am really good at....boiling water until the pot is empty and scorching, burning microwave rice, burning potatoes, and lots of other charred items. Therefore, my favorite things to cook are things that don't burn as easily.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I like the big feasts at Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
Finally learning how to make chicken that tastes good. Not sure what I was doing wrong, but it was gross everytime, and not just to my tastes. Everybody found it absolutely nasty. And now, suddenly, even though I cook it the same, it tastes very good.
My cooking tragedies
Everything that I burn. I need less distractions.

Curried Butternut Squash Soup with Almonds
Only one word required.... YUM!! (except I nixed the yogurt cuz I can't have dairy anymore, I'm guessing it would be twice as good if I could put in the yogurt)

Tzatziki Sauce
Very runny...like the other reviews state(I wish I had read the reviews first), but I added a container full of cream cheese to thicken it up, and it tamed the mega-garlic too. Very tasty.

White Sauce for Pasta
Super Tasty, I am going to eat this sauce with everything from now on for the rest of my life. I didn't have any butter granules and just skipped them, and also subbed corn starch instead of flour cuz I cant have wheat gluten. If it's even better with the butter granules....WOW. I also tried replacing some of the chicken boullion with curry powder, also extremely tasty!
