About this Cook
I collect cook books and enjoy trying new recipes. I spend quite a bit of time surfing the internet for new recipes. I can usually be found on Allrecipes on the recipe exchange a hefty few hours a day, it has become my hobby over the past year! What else can I say: I am a wife, mother and servant to my precious cats (they have me trained quite well)!!
My favorite things to cook
I like to try all types of recipes. My favorite dishes to try are any pasta dishes. I also enjoy baking cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Thanksgiving I make the homemade noodles. Bad things would happen if I ever tried to get out of this duty! At Christmas I make several candy & cookie trays. I have done this for years and my daughter now joins me in keeping up the tradition. I have a few things that are on the trays every year that my daughter says would not be Christmas without them, but I usually try to throw in one or two new things to add to the mix.
My cooking triumphs
Every year when I have all of the noodles done and the candy/cookie trays finished!
My cooking tragedies
So far so good! ;)

Vegan Chili
Great quick lunch on a Fall day! My additions were: doubling the chili powder and adding in 2 cans of rinsed black beans & 1 can of diced tomatoes. I really liked the flavor of the liquid smoke in this! Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Classic Waffles
This was my first attempt at making waffles and I must admit that I was very happy with the outcome! I made two batches and doubled the vanilla in each (I will probably add a little more sugar next time). I made half with chocolate chips and the other half with cinnamon & pecan pieces. Thanks for sharing your recipe!

Slow Cooker Casserole
I made some changes due to what I had on hand. I used frozen peas b/c I was out of mixed veggies. My chicken was precooked so I added a can of broth and also a can of cheddar cheese soup to offset the cream of chicken flavor. This addition did not make it a cheese sauce at all, just masked the canned flavor, oddly enough. I did toss in some Old Bay, poultry seasoning and herbes de provence. When it was done I added some water to thin it some and set it to warm while my french bread was in the oven. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
