About this Cook
I'm a midwifery student in university, living with my boyfriend downtown Toronto. I'm from a small town and from a family who love to cook. They inspired me!
My favorite things to cook
stir-fry, sausage and pepper pasta sauce (my boyfriend's favourite), salmon, soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas dinners where everyone has a role, from chopping the veggies, to carving the bird, to washing the dishes! Listening to my dad recite recipes in the kitchen in french or italian accents (depending on the dish).
My cooking triumphs
Making a pasta sauce that even my boyfriends brother liked (he's very picky). And making chicken fajitas for my parents that I think thoroughly impressed them.
My cooking tragedies
Oh no... Apple pie for this past year's thanksgiving. It was terrible. The crust looked like a botched surgery and had the consistency of cement. I'm a terrible baker!

Basic Quiche by Shelly
I followed the suggestion of using 3 eggs and a cup and a half of cream to create more room for veggies and I think that worked very well. Next time I may increase the egg to cream ratio as I found it a little soft for my taste. The cook time worked perfectly for me.

Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way
Very easy, but a little too 'basic' tasting.
