I have lived in Delta, B.C. (Vancouver) for the last 30 years, before that I lived in Victoria, B.C., Ottawa, Ontario and Halifax, Nova Scotia. My love of cooking comes from my mother and my Nana who were excellent cooks, in fact my Mom, who is 86 still is an excellent cook! Today I am a Nana and one of my favorite things to do is too cook with my grandson and granddaughter. When I was younger I made a lot of elaborate desserts and main courses but I find as I am getting older, I tend to like the simpler recipes. I mostly use fresh ingredients. We grill often and I enjoy the simplicity of the George Foreman Grill and my Crock Pot. We do like the flavors of Mexican, Mediterranean and Thai Foods. As my family has grown, left home and started families of their own, I have beome the "Holiday Cook". I am usually the one to do Christmas, Easter, Thanksgiving and most Birthday dinners. I try not to get too locked into tradion, but the one thing I have to make with a turkey dinner is my Sausage-Cornbread Dressing.I couldn't bear the long faces if I didn't make it! I have had many rave reviews for my cooking and, thanks to this site, plan on getting many more!! Whenever I get a swelled head about how great a cook I am - my family just has to say "Dill Pickle Soup" to bring me crashing down to earth!!
