Vegetarian Tourtiere

Tastes great. The recipe, however, leaves out where to add a third of the ingredients! My amended Step 3 is: Stir the texturized vegetable protein and vegetable flake mixture in with the mushroom and onions. Mix bread crumbs, pepper, sea salt, thyme, savory, cloves and nutmeg in a medium bowl. Add bread crumb mixture into vegetable mixture. Pour the beer into the skillet with the vegetable mixture; remove from heat and cool. I used 1/4 tsp marjoram and 1/4 tsp sage instead of savory. I also used a frozen pie crust and only used 2/3 of the filling inside the pie. Fantastic with cranberry chutney!!

WOW! Super fluffy and tasty. Made it with 1% milk instead of cream and it came out delectable.

Sensational! Just like when I used to live in Vancouver. I used hand-chopped almonds instead of walnuts.

WONDERFUL! I made these a little large and turned them into mini pavlovas -- topped with fresh-whipped cream and fresh berries -- they just melt in your mouth. Fabulous recipe!

Super tasty! I added additional 1/4 cup water and was sure to buy Thai jasmine rice. This was a beautiful accompaniment to our Asian meal. Thanks for sharing!

Crabby Cream Cheese Wontons

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
Based on everyone else's suggestions, I doubled the cream cheese (four bricks total) and these were awesome. It made a ton of wontons (more than one package of wrappers). I deep-fried half and them steamed the rest in my steamer for 12 minutes -- they came out wonderful (and no fat from the oil). Some people preferred the fried, others preferred the steamed -- every single one was eaten. Yum!

Neat Sloppy Joes

Wonderful! I made this with Yves' "The Good Ground" vegetarian soy crumbles instead of meat. It was delicious and healthy! What a fun treat. I sauteed the onions and celery in a tablespoon of olive oil until soft, then added the soy crumbles, then followed the rest of the recipe as directed. Tasted GREAT -- especially on onion buns. Yum!

Good healthy soup! I added fresh squeezed lemon to each serving, which gave it the perfect balance.

Ricotta Cheese Cookies

Very tasty cookie - light and fluffy, not too sweet. I made three frosting variations: almond extract, lemon extract and coconut extract, and sprinkled sliced almonds, lemon zest and coconut on top, respectively. Yum!

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie

Delicious! I don't like pastry crusts, so I used a premade graham cracker crust and it absorbed some of the moisture, but was otherwise terrific!! I used milk as well, and didn't have to thicken much after the eggs were added. This is a wonderful, easy, delicious recipe!

Hot Bacon Dressing

I found that the recipe wasn't specific enough and didn't explain when to stop reducing. I ended up with bacon caramel. It might have been me being a twit, but I usually don't have trouble doing a recipe for the first time. More detail would be helpful.

Alla Checca

This is perhaps one of the best pasta sauces I have ever made! I love the taste of fresh garden tomatoes and it's always seemed just a waste to spoil their taste by cooking them. This recipe is delicious! I used farfalle pasta so it was easily tossed all together. It's even delicious as a cold pasta the next day, with a little extra parmesan. Thank you, this is a keeper!
