This was a perfect balance of sweet and savory. In addition to the onion, I included chopped celery and carrots. My family absolutely loved this.

The meat filling was tasty. However, like a previous reviewer, I too chose not to use the puffed pastry and opted for the dough from the Empanadas Fritas de Queso recipe. All in all they were very good. I did not have any raisins so I substituted with craisins. Next time I think I will try it with my pie crust instead.

This frosting was excellent! Very light and fluffy. I used orange extract in place of vanilla and it was phenomenal! However, like other reviewers noted, the consistency was not as stiff as I would have preferred.
