About this Cook
Im an American, originally form Baton Rouge, Louisiana now living in Sweden. I love cooking and have been cooking since I was 8 years old. My Mom has taught me so many things about cooking and I have also learned many things on my own. Now Im living in Sweden and I'm having more fun cooking! I like Swedish food. But I can honestly say, its bland compaired to what Im use to! You would think after eating bland food for years, my Louisiana cooking would be too spicy for them. But nope! The Swedes are lovin' my cookin'!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking anything! My Swedish husband never turns his nose up to anything I have made thus far.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Going home and cooking a Thanksgiving meal with my Mom, sister and her family.
My cooking triumphs
February 3,2003 I made my FIRST cake from scratch!!!! After 33 years and since this day was my birthday I finally did something I feared and the cake was fabulous!!
My cooking tragedies
I guess maybe I was between 8-10 years old and I was making once again a batch of shortbread. It came out as hard as a brick. Mom says I must have added too much of either baking powder or baking soda. hehehe

Favorite Corn Bread
Used this recipe to make cornbread dressing. Because cornbread dressing should not contain a sweet cornbread, I omitted the sugar in this receipe and it was perfect!

Cajun Appetizer Meatballs
I used apricot instead of peach preserves. Didnt find this at all too salty nor too spicy. Being from Louisiana, I used Tony Chachere's of course. This receipe is a keeper.

Louisiana Crab Dip
IMO, too much onion therefor only 4 stars. Otherwise very nice. BTW, I am from Louisiana.
