Best Marinara Sauce Yet
This is very tasty sauce but I can't give it 5 stars because I believe the amount of olive oil is just way too much! I usually read the reviews prior to making a recipe but didn't have time. After making this and realizing how much oil it called for, I went back and looked and read about 12 reviews before anyone even mentioned it. I know it's only for sautéing the onion, but 6 tbs for 1/3 cup onion? Ridiculous! I should have drained it but instead, I followed the recipe and added the sauce and wine. It tasted good, but you could see it was oily. 2 tbsp would be plenty! I don't know if that was a typo or if someone just really likes olive oil, but that is my only complaint with this recipe. I used chardonnay for the wine because that was all we had. It was really very good, despite the oil issue.
