This was great. Great flavor and texture. I followed directions, and also stirred the candy while cooking most of the time. You have to watch it carefully as it starts to get more golden. It should be a creamy texture, and should begin to pull from sides of pan. I toasted the almonds which added flavor. One regret is that I didn't spread the toffee thinner in the tray at the end, so the candy is rather thick in the middle. Still tastes great.

Banana Bread V

good banana bread. I followed ingredients as directed but modified procedure a little. I combined all dry ingredients, then mixed all wet ingredients including butter (instead of margerine) and milk. then combined the 2. Came out great!

Gisela's Butternut Squash Soup

Used frozen butternut squash that was already cubed. Also a dash of cream instead of sour cream. I added some sage and ginger but powdered and some salt and pepper. Was great.

Chicken Milano

This was quite good. I didn't have fresh basil this time of year, so I used dried. I added fresh Parmesan at the table. Iused half and half because that was all I had and it was fine. At the end I needed to thicken the sauce a bit with a small shake of Wondra. I would like to double the sauce next time as it wasn't enough to coat all the pasta. Of course I didn't read other reviews until AFTER I made it, or I would have known about the sauce. I should add, I first cooked the chicken in the pan, then removed it. Cooked the sauce in that pan. This reminded me of a really rich dish from Olive Garden!

Comment: Those who claim it was atomic hot are probably using tabasco sauce while others are using a much milder sauce such as Franks hot sauce. I am making it today and will be back with review.

Corn Pudding IV

Delicious. Texture was not what I expected. It was pretty well done, and not pudding in texture at all. More like a cake. Maybe I over-cooked it.

Easy Tortellini Soup

Beer Batter Fish Fillets

This was really good. The batter stuck to the fish, and puffed up a little. I would have liked it a little thicker and crispier. I held it in the oven on low until all the fish was ready. That may have contributed to the lack of crispiness.

BBQ Country Style Ribs

These ribs are very good. I realized after cooking for 2 hours that there was no barbeque sauce in the house so I made my own from a recipe on here called "Bar-B-Que Sauce". It was so good. Only change is that I broiled the ribs for a few minutes to get a nice carmelization of the sauce.

Asian Chicken Salad

I love the dressing. Yum! The salad gets a few variations depending on what I have on hand; mandarin oranges, waterchestnuts, chinese noodles, etc. Great meal for summer nights.

Butternut Squash Bisque

This is delicious. Very much like the one I spend a lot of money for at Stew Leonards (specialty store in NY area). I used frozen squash, and it was still quite good. I didnt have leeks on hand, so used a little more onion.

Bodega Bay Cioppino

Made for the first time tonight. Served to guests and they loved it. I modified it slightly based on the ingredients I had on hand, in place of crab I used lobster - it was on sale - and littleneck clams, scrod, and shrimp. I think any combination of shellfish works nicely. The sauce was tasty. Many other recipes call for fish stock or clam juice but I didnt have either and it was just fine without. Served with bread and a dessert of fresh fruit. Was a big hit.

Best Bread Machine Bread

Good bread, easy to prepare. Nice taste. Texture is a little too airy for my tastes. I wonder if that is my bread machine though, because all my breads are like that in the machine.

Rich Italian Sausage and Potato Soup

This is as good as, if not better than the one at the restuarant. Made it many times. First time was much better. Second time the potatoes began to fall apart. The only difference, time 1 I used red skinned potatoes but time 2 I used baking potatoes.
