Excellent recipe. Quick and easy. I substituted frozen peas for the green beans, but prepared rest as directed. Everyone loved it and found the meal satisfying and filling.

My family challenged me to find a white bean recipe that did not call for ham or bacon. I made three different recipies and this was the winner hands down. Changes I made were...use of homeade chicken stock, no added salt, no corriander seed, substituted tomatillos, diced tomatoes and green chilies for 2 cans diced tomatoes with green chilies and 2 cans diced tomatoes seasoned with oregano/garlic/basil. I couldn't find tomatillos anywhere. I put one thin slice of lime on top of each bowl of soup right before serving. Beautiful presentation and everyone raved about it. Thank you for a new family favorite!!!

Excellent recipe just as it is written. I have made it many times and family gobbles it up. Today I changed a few things and found it even better, so thought I would share. Instead of salt and pepper, I used 1 tsp Cajunland seasoning. Instead of onions, I sauteed fresh shallots and fresh garlic in a small amount of margarine. It was wonderful! Thanks for sharing this terrific recipe.
