About this Cook
I have a wonderful husband; three boys, 21, 17, and 13. I adopted my thirteen year old from foster care and love him very much. The furry members of my family are four cats and a dog. My 17 year old is a Senior this year in High School and an aspiring baseball player.
My favorite things to cook
I like to cook something different and try new things. I love Italian food. I am German and my parents wore me out with German food growing up. Sauerkraut once in a while is okay but not too much.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Aunt Mae used to make these big fluffy sugar cookies at Christmas time and I have never found anyone who could make them like her or found a recipe that could top hers. She would make hundreds of these cookies for Christmas and freeze them. They were as good thawed out as they were fresh from the oven.
My cooking triumphs
I would love to master making bread like my mom did when I was a kid and master the sugar cookies that my Aunt Mae made.
My cooking tragedies
I have made some terrible bread in the past. I am so afraid to try bread that I just gave up.

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes
I made these potatoes today and I think they were the best that I have ever made. I used Velveeta instead of shredded cheese and it turned out so creamy. Thanks for the recipe.

Chicken Corn Soup I
This soup was great. It is just like what I remember from years ago. I used chicken broth in place of the water and I used egg noodles intead of rivels. I omitted the hard boiled egg; my husband doesn't like his chicken corn soup with egg. Instead of frozen corn, I used canned corn also. This recipe turned out great.

Honey Mustard Dressing II
This is perfect as is. I needed a mustard sauce for dipping chicken and this was perfect. The only that I did different was used Miracle Whip instead of mayo because I use Miracle Whip in place of mayo all the time.
