Mommy Again
About this Cook
Midwestern white girl married into a Mexican family in Los Angeles. High school English teacher on maternity leave.
My favorite things to cook
I love my daily recipe emails becauase I love to try new things! But mostly I love the bluberry scone recipe I got here and any variety of pasta recipes
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mom trained my sister and I to cook early so that she could go back to work when we were in high school. I've been making a number of her recipes, and often tweaking them to my husband's spicier tastes.
My cooking triumphs
Selling a variety of scones at our local coffee shop!
My cooking tragedies
With two in diapers and sleep deprivation, I've left things on the stove more than I care to admit. Good thing the fire alarm is a few rooms away.... LOL!

Broccoli Cheese Soup VII
I sent this as my son's lunch to preschool and all three of his teachers want the recipe. Not bad, huh? OH, and I had to make two batches in one weekend because I ate practically the whole first batch by myself. Only, I NEVER use the Velveeta/processed cheese. I used Cheddar, and in the first batch I threw in a little Colby/Jack mix and in the second batch a slice or two of Muenster. Add whatever you like, but I recommend basing it on Cheddar. Also, for my little guys, I smash up the broccoli before adding it so they wont freak out with the chunks and balk at eating the most healthy part of this soup.

Barbeque Halibut Steaks
Me, I thought this was "very good" but my husband said it was the best meal he's had. Period. Served it with cous cous and Tofu Creamed Spinach. I do have to say it was SUPER easy and quick.
