Deep Dish Alfredo Pizza

Reviewed: Nov. 18, 2009
I absolutely loved the alfredo sauce, It was delicious, mmmmmm, I ended up eating the leftover sauce with corn bread. I'm giving this 4* since my family liked this pizza. I can't say the same though. Topped with spinach and sliced onions... maybe I should try different toppins next time. Thank you :)

We absolutely loved this recipe! the pie was sooo rich, so incredibly creamy, sooooo delicious!! only used three eggs, added just 1TB of margarine to the filling and made the buttery flaky pie crust recipe from this site (another great recipe you should try!). Thank u!!!!!

Bread Pudding II

Reviewed: Aug. 7, 2009
I eyeballed the amount of bread, filling my pan to the brim. I ran out of raisins, so used dried cranberries instead. We really loved this pudding, not too sweet, not soggy at all, just perfect! Forgot mine in the oven XD but resulted into a delicious crispy topping in contrast to the tender filling. Also used lard instead of butter. Next time I'll try adding ground almonds along with the raisins. Thank you!

Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
Delicious!! the dough reminded me of those danish butter cookies we buy every year for christmas, with the exception that these butter cookies are waaaay cheaper. It uses the simplest ingredients and they're pretty easy to prepare. I placed each cookie ball into paper muffin cups and floured my index finger to make the wells, making sure there was enough room for the jam. Sprinkled with powdered sugar when baked and they looked just lovely. I'm planning to give these away as christmas gifts in the coming years. Also added one small egg instead of two yolks, and they came out perfect anyway. Thank you sooo much MKHG, this recipe of yours is excellent!

I agree with the others, this is surely rich and moist, but in my opinion the coffee flavor was overpowering, I was expecting something more chocolately.

Double Tomato Bruschetta

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
i also brushed the bread with olive oil and broiled it for a couple of minutes. I'm a garlic fan, so besides the chopped garlic, I like to give my bread a garlic rub too (the flavor is subtler for those who don't like to find garlic bits in their bruschetta). Thank you!

Chicken Breast Stuffed with Spinach Blue Cheese and Bacon

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2009
Quick and easy, decided to make this at the very last minute and ended up with a delicious dish which didn't take much effort. Omitted the sautening step, I was in a hurry (actually I was starving ;), and added a garlic clove finely chopped to the filling. Also drizzled the baking pan with olive oil, added a splash of white wine and 1/4 onion thinly sliced. Cooked as directed and served with white rice (almost forgot, poured those delicious juices from the chicken-cheese and wine over the rice, mmmmmm....) Thanks for the recipe!

We didn't care for this. If you're trying this recipe, please, soften your sun-dried tomatoes first. Thank you anyway!

Gorgonzola Sauce

I've used this sauce many times and I love it!! I like mine with less butter, and the amount of cheese depends on my mood ;) Sometimes I thin it out with milk or cream. This one is a keeper, thank you!

We didn't like this that much, It just tastes bland for me, kinf of boring! Used a puff pastry sheet for the crust and as other reviewer said also added an egg to the sour cream mixture. Thanks anyway!

Strawberry Torte

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2009
I honestly can say this is the best strawberry torte/dessert I have ever had/made, It's soooooo good that my mom wants me to make it again next week for her birthday party. I can't give this 5* because of the many changes I've made, but the recipe as is, is a great start. All that reviews inspired me, thank you! Made my own "Ladyfingers" from scratch(recipe on this site), actually spread the batter over a sheet cake pan, baked and then cut in half to make the layers. Used 1 pound of fresh strawberries: saved 4-5 sliced strawberries for decoration, and mashed/strained another 4 which I mixed with the cream cheese and whipping cream. Placed the remaining strawberries in a saucepan, added around 2TB sugar, 1/2 glass of water and simmer until the strawberries were soft. Reserved part of the liquids to soak the cake later. Added 1TB of cornstarch to the strawberries mix, stirred and removed from heat (let cool and blended the mixture). Then just layered, covering the top with the strawberries mixture. Delicious!! that's saying a lot considering I've always *hated* all those desserts that involved strawberries and whipping cream. I can't thank you enough!

Truck-Stop Buttermilk Pancakes

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2009
These are so delicious, loved every bite! We usually don't have pancakes around these parts, so I'm not a pancake expert, but I definitely can tell what I like or what I don't and these were fabulous. I'd tried a couple of recipes before but never got a half-decent result until now. Soft, light and fluffy, mmmmmmmm, ate breakfast twice this morning, lol. Thank you!!

Butter Flaky Pie Crust

Omg!!! this crust is amazing!! I'd added the recipe to my recipe box a long time ago and yesterday gave it a try. It's the flakiest crust ever. Followed the recipe to a T, but I was in a rush and decided to put the dough in the freezer until it was firm. Got amazing results! obviously this one goes now with my favorites! THANK YOU!!!

Buttermilk Chess Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2009
Made too many changes to give this 5*. Only had three eggs, so increased the buttermilk to 1 cup. Added just 1-1/4 cups sugar and it was sweet enough for us, and also cut the amount of butter in half. Also cooked it a bit longer. Great texture, great flavor,... delicious!!

Stuffed Flounder

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
Oh my goodness, it looked so beautiful, but the flavor was terrible. It's the first time I have just white rice for lunch. I tried to give this more flavor with white wine and clam sauce, but it didn't help. As a fish lover, i only can say there's a million ways to prepare a tastier flounder. I'm sorry, but i can't recommend this recipe to anyone.

Chili-Lime Chicken Kabobs

i marinated the chicken for a couple of hours but they still had not enough flavor for my tastes (i think these would be better with fresh garlic and onions). Next time i will marinade overnight. Thread fresh pineapple and cherry tomatoes on the skewers.
