"Cinnamon" Rolls II
About this Cook
I'm 27 and have a degree in Arts. Art is always been my passion, I've been drawing/painting since i was a child. Besides all that, I do love cooking, well... i also love eating!!!!!! I started in the kitchen at an early age since I always liked being in the kitchen with my mom and granny, smeared with flour and all that stuff. At home, i'm the person in charge of cooking (actually i took over the kitchen!!), so i'm constantly providing my loved one's with healthy and hearty meals to satisfy their appetite. When it comes to desserts.... i'm a master baker!! I love trying new recipes, whenever i find something that looks yummy i MUST give it a try. However, we have our staples at home, so i'm not the one who tries a new dish every day. Thanks to allrecipes, i can incorporate new staples into my list. If you have any questions (recipes...) feel free to email me at: lorenaig82@hotmail.com :)
My favorite things to cook
Seafood, rice, vegetables, cakes,... everything!! I also love chicken but nobody at home likes it except for me.... go figure!!! :(
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love baking "roscón", a traditional type of ring-shaped cake, baked for Easter here in Spain. Actually in my family since I was a child, women get together to make this dessert. That's the best way to keep us all together and make kids love cooking!! In Christmas time, we eat tons of shellfish and "turrón", and every New Year's day we have churros and hot chocolate for breakfast.
My cooking triumphs
Thanx to my mom, I make the best empanadas ever!!!!....of course, after hers!. I'm also proud of my "petits choux" (filled with tons of pastry cream), always get rave reviews!!
My cooking tragedies
hmmm...... probably the first time i cooked pasta... please, give me a break, i was 10 or so!!!!!!!!

Coconut Cream Pie
We absolutely loved this recipe! the pie was sooo rich, so incredibly creamy, sooooo delicious!! only used three eggs, added just 1TB of margarine to the filling and made the buttery flaky pie crust recipe from this site (another great recipe you should try!). Thank u!!!!!

Bread Pudding II
I eyeballed the amount of bread, filling my pan to the brim. I ran out of raisins, so used dried cranberries instead. We really loved this pudding, not too sweet, not soggy at all, just perfect! Forgot mine in the oven XD but resulted into a delicious crispy topping in contrast to the tender filling. Also used lard instead of butter. Next time I'll try adding ground almonds along with the raisins. Thank you!

Jam Filled Butter Cookies
Delicious!! the dough reminded me of those danish butter cookies we buy every year for christmas, with the exception that these butter cookies are waaaay cheaper. It uses the simplest ingredients and they're pretty easy to prepare. I placed each cookie ball into paper muffin cups and floured my index finger to make the wells, making sure there was enough room for the jam. Sprinkled with powdered sugar when baked and they looked just lovely. I'm planning to give these away as christmas gifts in the coming years. Also added one small egg instead of two yolks, and they came out perfect anyway. Thank you sooo much MKHG, this recipe of yours is excellent!
