Made as directed (minus nuts) and thought it was excellent. I felt there was no need for any type of icing or sugar as it would only "gild the lily." Received rave reviews from all who ate it! Definite keeper!

Very good, easy recipe. The first time I made it I used salsa from the jar and the recipe was good, but I had jack up the spices a bit. The second time I used fresh salsa from the refrigerated aisle and that made a big difference - it has a much better fresh tomato taste. I also used a roasted garlic salsa so I omitted the garlic called for in the recipe. Either way, it's better the second day!

I made the recipe as written, only substituting butter for margerine. They came out very moist and not too sweet which I like a lot. I'll make them again using applesauce instead of butter and maybe adding some raisins.
