It was ok. Not my favorite but likely because of the dressing.

This has to be the best cornbread recipe I have ever made. It is so moist and delicious. 5 stars because no alternations are needed.

Whole Wheat Snickerdoodles I

Wow, I couldn't believe how many people loved this recipe. They come out incredibly chewy. I did flatten them with the glass, otherwise they were smaller and too puffy. I will definitely make this again. I'm going to try to substitute the butter for the applesauce next time to see how well it holds up. Thank you for a great cookie recipe using whole wheat flour!

Turkey Bow Tie Skillet

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
This was a pretty simple dish to make and I followed some of the suggestions along with adding my own. I had over a pound of ground turkey so I doubled the pasta, onion, celery, green pepper, garlic. I only used 1 can of diced tomatoes and I didn't add sugar but instead used a very high quality balsamic vinegar (1 Tb) and used more chili powder than the recipe calls for. I also added some red pepper flakes to give it a little kick. I did double the chicken broth but I doubled everything else (4 cups pasta). I would imagine if I had any more liquid, it would have been soupy. My family LOVED this dish. There were no leftovers! Very satisfying dish that is a healthy choice.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

What can I say. This was a HUGE hit. I did boil the chicken and veggies in chicken broth and baked the crusts for 10 minutes before filling. Everything else, I remained true to the recipe. I made individual pot pies for our Christmas Eve dinner. I think this has become a tradition.

Hot Water Pie Crust II

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2008
I have never been able to make a flaky pie crust before but this recipe made my Chicken Pot Pies a huge success! Everyone raved on how flaky and tasty the crust was. The hot water made the shortening creamy, then when you add the flour, it comes together quickly. That kept me from overworking the dough. Overworking the dough has always made my crusts heavy in the past. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

Although it wasn't my favorite, everyone I gave it to loved it and thought it was the best ever! Pretty simple to make and I doubled the cranberries as previous members suggested.

I wasn't all that thrilled with this. It was just spicy and I don't think it really represented what I would call Mexican style.

My kids loved this recipe. It's now my 16 old son's favorite dish. I did add the Worschestire sauce as others recommended and I'm glad I did. I also used instant mashed potatoes. Costco has a brand that comes in pouches and it tastes close to the real thing without the hassle.

Butternut Squash Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
I'm so glad I took others advice and cut the cream cheese by 1/4. It was great but if you use the entire 16 oz of cream cheese, I think it would over power the squash. We also cooked the squash in the oven to make it easier to peel and cube. Glad we did. Thanks to all with the great advice.
