Holiday Punch II

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
We served this along-side a rum punch as the "kid-friendly" option at our holiday party. It was a big hit for the children and non-drinking adults alike. Would definitely use this again!

Christmas Punch

A big crowd pleaser at our holiday party! There are several reviews mentioning that it is too strong. Our experience was that people liked it with a "kick" to it. Probably depends on how your crowd typically likes their drinks. Definitely consider that when you are adding the rum and I'm sure you'll be pleased.

Barbecue Beef for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
I made this for our holiday party this year and everyone was raving about it! I definitely agree with all the reviews suggesting doubling the sauce, I did and that seemed perfect. I made the sauce and pulled the beef the night before and left the meat sit in the sauce overnight, to be reheated for the party. We had a little for dinner the night we made it and it was yummy, but I do think that the taste was even better the next day after sitting overnight for the flavors to blend. It stood up well to staying heated in a slow-cooker throughout the party. A real winner and crowd-pleaser!

Gingerbread Waffles with Hot Chocolate Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2008
We made these for a special "weekend before Christmas" breakfast and loved them! The waffles turn out much more tender than a normal waffle, so you need to be very careful when removing from the waffle iron. I ended up with lots of cornstarch lumps in the sauce, so had to strain it. Also a lot of extra sauce. Next time, I plan to save back a little of the water to dissolve the cornstarch in before adding to the hot sugar water and will also half the sauce recipe, unless I have another use for the leftovers.
