How do I love thee .... This bread is near perfect! I am not a fan of bananas, but I CANNOT leave this stuff alone! I have tried pretty much ALL of the banana breads on this site.. this is our (me/sis/and all our kids & hubbies) favorite, by far. The crust that forms on the top is to die for... the scent as it cools on the sideboard is heavenly... I could go on and on...

Clone of a Cinnabon

Very, very very good! So light and yummy. I used all purpose flour instead of bread flour, and mixed in my stand mixer with the bread hooks. I let the prepared rolls sit overnight in the fridge, and let them rise a bit on the counter before baking. Even after all of these changes, the recipe still turned out great! I followed the advice of other reviewers, and mixed the filling together before spreading, instead of layering the ingredients as specified. The icing is the crowning glory.. the road to heaven is probably paved with this stuff. Sooo tasty.. Thanks Marsha!

Gingerbread Boys

So yummy, very light and tasty with great orange flavor. I did add some orange juice (about 1/4- 1/2 cup) to the dough during mixing, since it was a little dry for me.. this punched up the orange flavor more than the original recipe. I also substituted maple syrup for the corn syrup. These guys did spread out a lot during baking, but the result was a cute, chubby gingerbread man the kids loved decorating. Too soft to hang on the tree.. just right for eating! Fine by me!

Buttery Cinnamon Cake

Very good, would be great for a brunch buffet. The syrup came out too watery for me, maybe I did something wrong.. I improvised by mixing up a batch of white icing, which I poured over the cake. If you like your cakes with lots of taste, as opposed to mild and buttery, then you'll want to add more spices to the batter. Overall, a very good homemade yellow cake.

Jet Swirl Pizza Appetizers

These were great! Served them at my nephew's birthday and they were gone in minutes. These are also nice for a quick lunch for the kids, with leftovers for a midnight snack! Pizza sauce on the side would be a nice addition.

Amy's Garlic Egg Chicken

Very good. The longer you marinate, the better it tastes. I use thin cut chicken breasts, and bake at 400 degrees in an 8x8 pan with 1/2 stick butter, for 5- 7 minutes each side. It comes out very tender. Great with pasta and red sauce.

Cashew Crusted Chicken

Great tasty, easy recipe! Some other reviewers thought that there wasn't enough taste. I found that you have to pour the extra sauce over the chicken before serving, and that adds the taste you need. Also, I omitted the curry and used garlic powder and a dash of teriyaki sauce instead, and substituted well crushed peanuts for the cashews. The sauce came out like a nice tangy duck sauce. Orange marmalade would work well in this recipe. Next time I will try jellied cranberry sauce, port wine, and cinnamon or allspice for the sauce, with minced walnuts as the crust. Thanks Brennan for a great recipe!

Salisbury Steak

Just great. I love Salisbury Steak, and this one was one of my favorites. I used extra lean ground beef, and mixed it up very well (a meat grinder would work well), and made the patties as thin and oval as I could. I got just the texture I wanted.. a very lean yet tender and juicy patty. I didn't make any changes at all, and it was perfect! Thanks Kelly.

Burrito Pie

Near perfect! We all love this tasty recipe... both my teenager and preschooler cleaned their plates. The only modification I made was to 1). Cut the recipe in half and bake it in a 3 QT casserole [which made about 8 servings]. 2). Substitute canned black beans for half the refried beans. Fantastic recipe... Thanks Kathi!

Cola Pot Roast II

This roast was so delicious. I doubled the amount of gravy and cooked it in my slow cooker for 8 hrs on low (or 4 on high would work too). I cooked my potatoes and carrots separately, as I don't like them mushy. I modified it slightly... extra garlic, half cream of chicken and half cream of mushroom soup, beefy gravy mix, and beefy onion soup mix. The result was a tender, tasty roast with a little sweetness. The gravy was perfect, just the consistency we like. My whole family loved it, toddlers and teens alike! It's now a staple of ours. Thanks so much Sher!

Banana Banana Bread

This bread is for you if you love a dense, slightly greasy, very banana-y bread. I happen to like mine a little lighter.. if you are like me, you HAVE to try Banana Bread IV from this website. Deliciously bakes up with a crusty top.. so perfect! Just try it!!
