About this Cook
20 yrs cooking. my parents were very tolerant about all my "experiments" in the kitchen. thanks to them i grew to love cooking and pursued a career as a professional, not through a school but through experience in working kitchens. what i can not learn in kitchens i challenge myself with at home. my goals are to one day work in a almost all vegetarian or vegan kitchen, and feed as many people as a can, free of charge
My favorite things to cook
Lasagna-the sky is the limit! Soup-a perfect soup is just..... perfect and timeless.
My favorite family cooking traditions
my mom's christmas morning crown of gold. planning and making all of my family's thanksgiving weekend meals
My cooking triumphs
cooking a fabulous dinner for my vegan friend cooking a fabulous thanksgiving dinner for my meat eating family. creating new appetizers for the catering company i was employed at
My cooking tragedies
most memoriable, sugar cookies that were as hard as rocks and tasted like a box of baking soda. making a cake from a box, but trying to pass it off as homemade

Biscotti Toscani
I have attempted making biscotti before, but was never happy with the results, until now. These are wonderful biscotti with excellent texture and taste. I did change a few things. I added 1/2 tsp. instant espresso to the mix and decreased the almond flavoring to 1/8 tsp. I also mixed in 1 c. chopped dark chocolate and topped them with almond slices. Very yummy, I plan to serve them with home made vanilla ice cream

Easy Key Lime Pie I
Yum! I really think this was the best key lime pie I have ever made. Grew up in Florida but am living in Texas it is hard to find a true South Florida key lime pie.... am so glad I used this recipe, reminds me of home. I followed recipe, I also use the super easy graham cracker crust recipe but added a little shredded unsweetened coconut to crust, so good!
