About this Cook
Stay at home mom with wonderful husband and children. I like spicing up my cooking with a "new recipe night" once a week, that is why I love AllRecipes...what great ideas they have.
My favorite things to cook
Anything on the grill.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Still working on them...my mom wasn't a big cook, so I am starting the traditions from scratch.
My cooking triumphs
Whenever I have a successful "New Recipe Night".
My cooking tragedies
Beer cheese spaghetti sauce...the gentleman that passed the recipe on to me didn't know how to read his wife's recipe and instead of 1 cup of beer he said 1 can of beer, you can imagine the outcome...absolutely gross.

Candy Ice Cream
This is wonderful ice cream and super easy (a big plus in my book). I used this recipe for an ice cream social where, like another contributor, I added chunks of York peppermint patties instead of candy coated chocolate. It turned out great, the ice cream had a hint of peppermint flavor with the bonus of candy chunks. I also tried with crushed Butterfingers and it was fabulous. I think that this is a great base ice cream with endless possibilities. Please note that the recipe says the prep time is 3 hours and 5 minutes...using my ice cream freezer there was 5 minutes of prep (if even that) and 45 minutes of freezing...so it is quick, too. This is definately a keeper.

Lemonade Pork Chops
These were wonderful. The flavor was very unique, yet very familiar...hard to describe. You might think that the chops would have a strong lemon flavor because of the lemonade, but that is not the case. I followed the ingredients list with no alterations, however instead of broiling I grilled the pork chops. They turned out fabulous. I will definately be sharing this one.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips
I thought this was an outstanding recipe. It was beautiful to serve and tasty to eat. I did not use the raspberries in the recipe because several of my friends do not care for them. Even without the raspberries it was delicious (and less costly). I substituted Gala apples for the Red Delicious, I find that there is a huge difference in quality of taste between the two types. When making the tortilla chips, instead of sprinkling the cinnamon-sugar mixture on, I placed the mixture in a Ziploc bag and coated the tortillas that way (I believe I used 2 cups of sugar and 4 teaspoons of cinnamon). I also cut down on the fat content by brushing the tortillas with water instead of using the cooking oil. They turned out great, lots of cinnamon-sugar coating and very crunchy (great for dipping). I will absolutely make this again. It is one of the tastiest dishes I have made in a long time. Thanks so much for contributing this addition to my recipe book.
