About this Cook
15 years ago, I could barely boil water. Things sure have changed. I try something new at least twice a week. I have been married for 14 years to a man who will eat anything. My son is 10 and is just getting out of his picky stage...He will try new things for me.. My almost 5 year old has her basics and doesn't like to try anything new.
My favorite things to cook
Anything with flour, sugar, eggs and butter! Summertime we have lots of pasta/couscous salads served with marinated meats. Fall and winter I try to utilize my crockpot as much as possible. My husband loves seafood, but after 10 years the only thing I have perfected is salmon and haddock. Shellfish I tend to overcook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love to make cookies at Christmas and hand them out to family and friends for gifts. My sisters who are non-cooks/bakers look forward to these every year.
My cooking triumphs
I make really good cookie bars. In fact a friend of ours actually named them after me..I won a baking contest with that recipe. You have to be a good friend for me to hand out this recipe!!
My cooking tragedies
This first time I made Chicken Marsala. I thought if 1/2 cup marsala wine was good, so 3 cups of wine would be great.. My husband came home to the house smelling like a vineyard. My chicken was drunk and drowning in wine. Yuck!

Glazed Apple Cream Pie
Made this last night and only have 1 slice left. I was looking for a new twist to the standard apple pie and this was it. The only thing I did differently was I added more apples.

Amish White Bread
I wish I could give it more stars. So easy, especially for some who is yeast challenged. I mixed it in my Kitchen-Aid. Perfect for toast or PB&J. I may stop buying bread at the store. Thanks for a great recipe.
