Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Soup

This soup is amazing! I can't wait to make it again. The only thing I did different was use frozen corn instead of canned. Thanks for the great recipe!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Very good! Both sweet & spicy. Love all the flavors. The soy sauce was just a smidge overwhelming so I may halve that next time. :)

Ray's Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
Very good! Lots of flavors in there. I cooked mine on the stovetop. I browned the chicken in olive oil & garlic, added your sauce & simmered it til it was thickened. It turned out great. Oh, and I used fresh rosemary, which worked really well.

Dark Chocolate Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
I don't eat chocolate cake but I can tell you my kids loved this cake! They inhaled it. :) Box cakes are so easy to make but I find it so satisfying to make a cake from scratch, even though they are a lot of work. Thanks for the recipe! :)

Whole Wheat Banana Nut Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
This was really good bread! I picked it b/c I didn't have any butter on hand. I did end up using white flour, though, b/c I didn't have any wheat. I'm sure it would have been even more delicious w/the WW flour as the honey gives it a great flavor. Thanks!

Very tasty! I would double the recipe next time, though. It was really a stretch to get the whole cake covered. :)

Great recipe!. The kids loved it. And thank you to the previous reviewers for posting their modifications. It was very helpful to know to throw in an extra can of tuna & some peas. Yum! ;)

What a great recipe! This is the first time I've made dinner rolls from scratch & actually had them turn out. Thanks! :)

Rosemary Corn Soup

Next time I would probably only use 1 cup onion instead of 2. I also added diced chicken. Yum. :)

I found these to be very dry & bland. I can see why the other reviewers added frosting.

Cheesy Vegetable Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
Great recipe to make out of stuff you have around the kitchen. Thick & flavorful. I used 3 1/2 cups of leftover chicken stock instead of the water & buillon. I also omitted the celery (just b/c I don't like it). Yummy! Very easy to make, too.

KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* Baked Pancake with Apples

Definitely more of a dessert than breakfast. Very eggy (it's more the consistency of bread pudding than a pancake). The topping tastes like apple pie filling. Very sweet.

The only change I would make would be to use only 1/2 the amts. butter & olive oil. Great flavor but very greasy! :)

Delicious! I didn't change a thing w/this recipe. What a great way to use up pears when they get too mushy to eat. :)

Mam's Black Cake

Reviewed: Aug. 17, 2008
Delicious! I took the others' advice: doubled up the blackberries & omitted the raisins. I also made the "fake" buttermilk by adding 2 T. lemon jce. to 2 cups milk & letting it sit for 10 min. I chose to use the entire amts. of cinnamon, nutmeg & cloves but it is VERY strong-flavored! Personally, I love it. But it might not be a bad idea to decrease the spices to 3/4 t. or maybe even 1/2 tsp. if you don't care for the strong flavor. It does overwhelm the blackberry and leaves a clovey taste in your mouth. :)

Ginger Veggie Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2008
Good recipe! I also added in some chunks of potato which was really tasty. I think next time I will dbl. up the broccoli (I love broccoli & it absorbs the soy & ginger so well). I also recommend adding in all the ginger at the beginning. Biting down on half-raw fresh ginger is kind of yucky. :)

Baked Chicken and Cheese Risotto

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
This is a good recipe to use up some ingredients around the house but it is pretty bland. I really like the creamy texture of arborio rice. I used cr. of chicken soup instead of mushroom & frozen corn instead of mixed veggies. I would also recommend browning & seasoning the chicken cubes before baking. :)

Shrimp and Mushroom Angel Hair Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2007
The only modification I made was to saute the garlic w/the shrimp rather than add it at the end. We also served it w/parmesan cheese on top. It was very good. I followed the recipe just as it says & did not find the wine to be too strong at all. If anything this pasta is a touch on the bland side. Don't be afraid to use all the garlic it calls for and maybe increase the white pepper just a bit. :)
