Oyster Sauce Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2012
My kids enjoyed this well enough, but I could still taste the oyster-yness in it, which I am not fully supportive of, even though I like oysters. I wanted it to carmelize more, crisp more. I have tried other oyster/chicken dishes that seemed to work better.

Pork Tenderloin Diane

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2011
I thought that this was a great way to make pork tenderloin. Usually we grill, but it was raining and so I had to rethink. THis was simple but delicious. My kids even liked it, and the neighbor boy called it "the best chicken ever". I made it as is and didnt change anything. Thanks!

Grilled Chicken Adobo

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
Loved this chicken - only reason that I gave 4/5 is that the sauce was wayyyy too salty. And I am a saltaholic. Maybe the soy I used, not sure. Once I reduced, it was inedible b/c of the sodium. I used a tiny portion and added water, and just LIGHTLY brushed it on top when I grilled. I loved the result - flavorful and somewhat healthier than with all the sauciness.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
When I was eating the dough, I thought that these would be the best cookies ever. I didn't think so though - good texture, nice and soft, but too little pumpkin flavor. I was disappointed. Without the glaze they would have been a total waste. Next time I will look for ones with more pumpkin. The raw dough, however, remains a favorite!!!!

Creamy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Oct. 17, 2011
My family loved this more than I did, but it was so easy and with rave reviews, how can i not rate it well. I also thickened the sauce with flour, and added some mustard for more taste. I thought the dish was a little bland. I was worried that the pork would look anemic and pale w/o browning beforehand, but it looked fine. I just would spice it up a bit with some more flavor.

Pollo Bianco

I give this 4 and a half - very tasty and easy prep. I love a chicken thigh, they make everything better. I used boneless, skinless thighs - still tender and flavorful w/o bone. Great easy recipe, thanks!

Awesome! Tastes just like a hoagie. Hard to stop eating!!! We ate in a bread bowl. Would not use so much mayo - fine with less. Awesome!

Oreo™ Cookie Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
I made a mistake when I made this cake, but admit that it was still a hit. I used yellow cake mix (or butter?) not chocolate. Not sure what I was thinking. Anyhow - the first day that we ate this (the day it was made) I wasn't impressed. But it got better as it sat and everyone loved it more. I also made double the glaze recipe. It looked better with more glaze (and of course, tasted better...) A big hit!

Easy Garlic Broiled Chicken

I thought that this chicken was quick, easy, and turned out great. My kids loved it, and so did I. I made it with bonesless, skinLESS chicken thighs so improved health quality - and it turned out just great. Thanks - it's a keeper!

Mini Cinnamon Cakes

Reviewed: Oct. 23, 2010
I searched this morning for a recipe that I could make for breakfast with only limited ingredients and I found this. I was skeptical as I was making it, that it would turn out bland and hockey-puckish. I was surprised. I made mine in muffin cups and used a leftover can of white frosting for the topping instead of choc sauce. My kids really liked it, and it was easy and did not require a lot of ingred. I would make it again (in fact, they made me promise that I would make it again!) Thanks Aimee!

Quinoa Tabbouleh

This was a great recipe! I left out the carrots and the onions. A piece of advice, add the oil mixture to the quinoa to ensure best ratio and avoid getting too much oil liquid. And, I toasted my quinoa cooking.

Blueberry Pigs

This recipe was easy and ingenious! Yes, a little tricky to roll, and mine un-seamed during baking (I think that I could have done that better on my end). I ate mine at room temp, once it had set a bit and was easier to eat. Perfect with some ice cream!

this was a great recipe, perfect for using the bluberries that weren't so sweet to start with. The color is beautiful and the taste was refreshing and not too cloying. Thanks for the great recipe!

Cream-Braised Brussels Sprouts

This recipe is very rich - to say the least. My husband loved it. I prefer a fresher tasting sprout, not one that tastes like it is clogging my arteries and making my but big. That's what potato chips are for. That said,it was good.

Baked Kale Chips

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
I really enjoyed these - my family would not buy into it, but oh well for them. If ever there was an occasion to eat dehydrated kale, this would be my recipe. I would make sure that the spices were represented because without them, they are not as tasty

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
This was very easy and really a hit. I also sprinked my pork with s&p and some thyme, then browned it lightly in a skillet first. To the skillet I added minced shallots, 1 c. red wine, garlic, and because I had it handy, the juice from a can of Campbells French Onion soup. I did not have a packet of gravy on hand, so I thickened it in a saucepan with cornstarch/water. My husband loved the gravy and could tell it was something different (and better). I will definately make this again and again!

Mustard Onion Pork Chops

Reviewed: Feb. 29, 2008
I had my doubts about this recipe, and I used the yellow mustard but also added some honey to cut the taste of the 'straight up' French's. When it was nearly done I nearly died because it looked like pork chops in yellow mustard. No different. I knew that my husband would take one bite and know that it was yellow mustard on pork. To my surprise, he liked it and said he couldn't quite figure out what the taste was. I thought he was crazy because it seemed obvious to me. He really liked these, I was not quite as impressed.

Easy Creamy Pork Tenderloin

THis did not have much flavor and was a waste of a normally tender piece of meat. I am not harsh on easy/slow cooked recipes, but this one was a bust. Sorry.
