Turkey a la King

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2011
I used my Thanksgiving turkey leftovers. I took the advice of others and did not use heavy cream, but 2% milk instead. Also, in the place of actual flour I used Wondra. For more flavor, I added garlic powder. Pepperidge Farm sells puff pastry shells which were amazing with this. Thanks for a nice recipe

Chocolate Pretzel Rings

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2010
These are the easiest!! And so good. As other reviewers said, watch your chocolates once they are in the oven. Depending which you use, the melting times vary greatly. As far as where to find the pretzel rings, I had a heck of a time! I lucked out after a stop at my local Aldi's, whose brand "Clancy's" has rings :)

BBQ Pie

This is excellent! I only used 1 can of beans. I also used sweet Italian sausages instead of ground beef. I was thinking it might be too weird, but it turned out fantastic! Definitely easy and filling!

This is a very good recipe. Use additional cornstarch if it isn't thick enough.

Wonderful! The mango adds some wonderful sweetness to this. You MUST use fresh cilantro (never dried).

I made some minor changes, and loved this! I used Haddock, added cubed red potatoes, corn and 3 cloves chopped garlic. I also used a can of diced tomatoes (subbed for the whole tom.) and used a bit more salt and rosemary. We had friends over and they couldn't get enough. Thanks for a great one!

Spicy Beef Curry Stew for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2004
This was very good & spicy! I was craving meatballs, so I substitued them for the beef. I browned them before putting in to slow cooker. I also added an extra chopped jalapeno and more curry. Served with cooked egg noodles - EXCELLENT!

Biscuit Topped Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2004
I also used a bag of hash browns as suggested (b/c I couldn't find the potatoes that were called for). Worked out fine. I wanted to make this creamier and add some spice so I did the following: 8 eggs, some milk, cubed Velveeta, 1 Tbsp. crushed red pepper, chopped jalapenos and chopped red pepper. Serve with hot sauce - YUM!

Cheesy Brat Stew for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2004
Awesome! I used pre-cooked brats, so no need to brown them. I also used 2 cans of soup and added some garlic. I do agree with other posts that 3 hours is NOT long enough - I did 5 hours on high and it worked out great.

Turkey Empanadas Grande

The flavor was good, but the pie crusts made it too sweet. I also had a hard time working with the pie crusts (couldn't get them to not fall apart!). Probably won't bother making this one again.
