About this Cook
Born In Nashville, TN and raised in Wichita, KS. I have lived in Omaha, NE for over 35 years. 2 great step children,1 beautiful granddaughter (and a grandson on the way!) 2 "four-legged" children. Work full time at a large real estate compnay as a corporate real estate services director.
My favorite things to cook
Mexican, Italian and you can beat the good old "steaks on the grill" on Saturday night
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother was a great southern cook, being born and raised in Nashville. I still use her methods for pot roast, ham and bean soup and corn bread and, of course, black-eyed peas on new years day.
My cooking triumphs
Beef stroganoff is my signature dish.
My cooking tragedies
A christmas goose one year...it ended up in the trash and we had hamburgers for our Christmas dinner.

Swedish Rye Bread
My husband likes this better than his old family recipe (don't tell them!) Delicious and easy. The rising times for me were a lot longer than indicated in the recipe but this turned out to be delicious flavorful bread. We'll make this often.

Hungarian Mushroom Soup
We had this last night and followed the recipe exactly as written except we forgot to add the lemon before eating. It was delicious even with out the last squirt of lemon. Very rich - we served it with fresh sourdough bread.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie
My husband made this for a Mexican Themed potluck lunch where he works. There was one piece left by the end of the lunch! This is so easy to make and way too easy to eat - he went shopping yesterday and bought more dough and cream cheese so he can make it again soon.
