About this Cook
I have been married for 15 years and have a boy, 9 yrs. old and twin girls, almost 6 yrs. old. I like to cook from recipes but am not good at "a little dash of this, and a little bit of that" type of cooking! (Smile)
My favorite things to cook
Paprika chicken for a picnic. Fond memories of birthday picnics at the park as a child.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Don't really have any "traditions".
My cooking triumphs
With 3 kids, sometimes my greastest triumph is just not to burn the food! Seriously, it was a chocolate box cake with chocolate mousse, strawberries and whipped cream - YUM - YUM!
My cooking tragedies
The time I shook the cumin directly into the pot of spaghetti sauce and found out that it had "bugs" in it!!! EWWWWW! Now, I shake in my hand first!

Zucchini Chocolate Cake
I don't know if something was wrong with my oven, but the cake had to cook for about 55 min. before it was done. The center jiggled at 35 minutes. I was disappointed because it wasn't as moist as others had experienced. I put some pieces in plastic ziplock baggies in the refrigerator and it helped with the moisture content, but I'm still not making this again.

Soft Whole Wheat Sugar Cookies
I use this recipe for cutout cookies. Refrigerate dough for about 1 hr. before rolling out. I use pumpkin pie spice and make autumn leaf cutout cookies and let the kids decorate them. I do not put the extra cinnamon and sugar on them as they will have enough sugar with the frosting and sprinkles :)

Flatlander Chili
I have younger kids, so I used 2 Tbsp. only of chili pwdr., and used 29 oz. Tom. sauce, 15 oz. tomatoes in juice, red kidney beans and black beans and put this in the crockpot. I then made cornbread to go with it. YUMMY!
