Dessert Crepes

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
Since this recipe has received such great reviews, I expected a lot. I was really unimpressed. I followed the recipe exactly, and the batter was difficult to work with. I tried lightly spraying my non-stick pan, but the batter stuck badly. To get them to work, I had to spray the pan A LOT. The batter was also too thick to make authentic crepes, so I added some water to thin it out a bit. As other people have said, these also tasted too eggy.

Fresh Fruit Breakfast Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2009
This was really delicious! As other reviewers have said, the prep time is way off. It wasn't hard to make, but the crepes were pretty time consuming. I accidentally bought cook & serve pudding instead of instant. I just mixed it with the OJ and sour cream and cooked it according to the directions on the box, and then chilled it and it worked out fine. So, if anyone else makes the same mistake, don't panic!

Gingery Mung Bean Sprouts Pancake

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
I really enjoyed this! It was very different from anything I've had before. I used all-purpose flour because that's all that I had on hand. I thought I was going to need to add more water, but my bean sprouts were still quite wet from when I washed them, so that added enough moisture. I served the pancakes with a little sriracha on the side.

Chicken Noodle Stir-Fry

This is too salty for me. I did use half of the chicken flavor packet from the Ramen noodles. Next time, I would half the soy sauce too. The Ramen noodles worked well in it.

Sweet and Spicy Sweet Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
I was looking for a way to use up some leftover sweet potatoes, and this recipe was a delicious way to do it! I didn't have any onion powder, so I left that out, but other than that, I made them exactly as directed. I will definitely be making these again! Thank you!

Southern Coleslaw

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
This was very easy, and it was refreshing to have as a small side dish, but I don't think I would want more than a few bites at any one meal. The only change I made to the recipe was to add some chopped celery.

Allie's Delicious Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
I've been looking for a good mac and cheese recipe for awhile, and this is the best one I've found. I left the ham out, to make it vegetarian. I took some other reviewers suggestions, and used 16 oz of macaroni instead of 8. I think it would have been much too soupy otherwise. I also sauteed some panko breadcrumbs in 2 tbsp of melted butter, and then added some shredded parmesan cheese and sprinkled it on top before baking.

Baked Beans from Scratch

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2008
These came out pretty well, although next time, I think I would double the "syrup" part of the recipe...they weren't quite as flavorful as I would have liked. I doubled the whole recipe this time. As written, the recipe says it will serve 10, but that seems very unlikely to me.

Green Beans with Almonds

Reviewed: Oct. 15, 2008
So Easy and Delicious! I used 3 Tablespoons of butter instead of 4. I took the almonds off the burner when they were just beginning to brown. After I added the lemon they browned perfectly. I used fresh green beans chopped into medium sized pieces.
