cooking is a hobby with me. I love the challenge with trying new recipes and finding new ingredients.
My favorite things to cook
seafood (all seafood) is my favorite food, and accompanying vegetable dishes are so important.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Mom's (now 98 years young)broad cooking interest has influenced all 8 children. Her cabbage rolls, salmon patties with creamed peas, cinnamon rolls, Kolaches, etc.,shows that, with her English heritage, she developed many of my father's German favorites.
My cooking triumphs
My mixed shellfish ramekins topped with puff pastry, served with steamed asparagus wrapped with lemon rind. I served homemade meringue shells with grapefruit curd (Sarah Leah Chase)for dessert.
My cooking tragedies
Pork tenderloin wrapped with proscuitto (way too dry) and a potato torta (National Potato Assn.) First time was great - second time,didn't get quite cooked enough A

Scalloped Cabbage Casserole
scalloped cabbage is always a favorite of mine. I increased recipe to serve 12 in a 9x13 baking dish. Your recipe is special with the carrots. the give it a colorful 'kick'. Thank you. SADSAM
