About this Cook
Love to cook (obviously!) and discover new favortie recipies. I also love wine and go to tastings nearly every week. Hosting dinner parties are another favorite pastime, although I've been behind in that.
My favorite things to cook
Gioza, Spaghetti, Baked Beans, Fried chicken, Sausage Biscuit & Gravy, Austi Jello (fun for the over 21 crowd), chocolate belgium waffles with ganache, french fries, mexican dishes, apple pie, balsamic vinegrette dresssing, cakes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baked mac&cheese, chocolate pie, mashed potatoes, deviled eggs - pretty much anything southern.
My cooking triumphs
my spaghetti - it's really evolved over several years, I finally think I have it perfected to my taste. I serve that with salad and my balsamic vinegarette dressing, and garlic cheese bread.
My cooking tragedies
the first time I try cooking a new recipie, it never comes out good. After that first disaster, I can usually figure out what I did wrong or what I need to change in the recipie. I just feel bad for my husband, who's usually the guinea pig.

Orange Sauce Chicken
While it wasn't intolerable, the glaze was more of a cream and not nearly as dark as most Orange Sauces. The only things changed were lessened the amount of sugar and added crushed red pepper to make it spicy. The spice was a nice touch, though the sauce was still a bit too sweet. Needs a better orange kick as well.

To Die For Fettuccine Alfredo
Everyone loved this at my house. I had to sub the Romano cheese, so I used Asiago instead - very flavorful and tasty. The Asiago is a bit sharper than the Romano, as evidenced by the smell - but delicious. Can't wait to try it with the Romano. Nice and thick sauce, and plenty of it as well.

Banana Crepes
This is a fantastic recipe! The crepes come out perfect. I've used several types of fruit (drizzled with honey) for the filling and also one of the homemade whipped topping recipes from this site. Always a HUGE hit! Try this for presentation: Place about 1 Tbls of the cinnamon caramel sauce on the place, then place the crepe flat while it's still hot, add about 2 Tlbs of fruit filling, another Tbls of whipped cream. Fold in two sides of the crepe and place an uncut strawberry or banana slice on top. Drizzle with more caramel sauce and serve. You're guests will love it.
