About this Cook
I am an Air Force wife and have been for the past 10 years. I love it. I get to move to different places and try new foods. It is a very exciting lifestyle as far as cuisine is concerned.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that is a challenge!!! I love comfort foods. Soups and stews and just about anything slow cooked.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have family recipes dating back to 100 years and they are still passed down from generation to generation. They are well kept secrets and only stay within our family.
My cooking triumphs
My first thanksgiving away from home as a military wife I had to make dinner for guests with a toothache. The meal turned out perfect even though I was in intense pain and had not slept at all the night before.
My cooking tragedies
I had a Thanksgiving one year in California where we had guests coming so my husband decides to buy a 23 pound turkey. I cooked that bird for 8 hours and it still wasn't done in time for dinner.I ended up cutting the portions that were done and serving that. I had went through so much trouble that day to make sure I purchased the perfect wine and decorated the table just right all to have a stubborn bird not cook. It was a nightmare but, my guests were wonderful and did not complain once. They loved the meal and gave me props for handling the situation well.

This is a very good recipe! We served it with Pepper Havarti cheese and it was wonderful. We make it once a month.
