Slow Cooker Italian Beef for Sandwiches

I used low sodium beef broth instead of water, omitted the teaspoon of salt because I could always add it later, used the Zesty Italian dressing mix and didn't bother to boil the spices, just didn't see the need as it was going to cook all day any way. We really enjoyed this.

Southern Fried Chicken Livers

I thought these were very good but need more than just garlic to season. I will use my Chicken Fried Steak mixture next time. I really think you need to have a deep fryer with a lid to make these because even with a screen to cover the pan they make a huge mess. I serve with cream gravy and fries--yep, lots of cholesterol but worth it once in a while----

Easy Sausage Gravy and Biscuits

We had this last night for dinner; real comfort food for a cold night. The only thing I do different is remove the sausage when done and set aside, add 1/4 cup butter to the pan, make the gravy, add back the sausage and often add a fried egg on top, or fry some crushed hashbrowns until crispy to top off the dish.

Peppered Shrimp Alfredo

We liked this recipe a lot but think next time I will use a 4 cheese mix from my deli instead of only Romano and for a more striking presentation I will remove the shrimp from the pan before adding the remaining ingredients and place the shrimp on top plate by plate.

Breaded Chicken Fingers

When I normally make fried chicken fingers I use a lot of different spices; was not in the mood to mess with all the spices so I used this recipe. It was good but think next time I will try Panko bread crumbs adding a tablespoon of Cajun seasoning. The store bought seasoned bread crumbs just didn't work best for our taste.

Garlic Red Potatoes

We did not care for the lemon in this recipe. I will stick with my regular recipe which is pretty much the same with no lemon and toss in a package of Concord Foods Potato Toppers and just a pinch of salt.

Chicken Pot Pie Soup

This was way too bland for us and by the time I got through tweaking it, it became a whole different recipe. I added garlic, Greek seasoning, poultry seasoning, and a bit of cayenne. I will use this as a base but will omit the cream of potato soup, double the cream of chicken, and cook some diced potatoes in chicken broth to add.

Slow-Cooked White Chili

This was too bland and lacking of substance for us. I will try again using 6 chicken breast, put them straight into the slow cooker, cover with water and cook until they shredd. I will remove a lot of the 'broth' and set aside in case I need to add some back. Will add black beans, garbanzo beans, and frozen corn, chipotle, cayenne, and Greek seasoning while following the recipe from this point. Greek seasoning can really add to soups and stews.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken

I loved the fact that I could actually bake a chicken in the slow cooker! I did think it was a bit bland. When I make this again I will put a spread of garlic butter under the skin of the breasts and add some Greek seasoning all over. I also added a bit of water before cooking.

Barbeque Halibut Steaks

This was good but I think when I make again I will cut down on the lemon or simply serve it on the side. I also feel the fish needs to be marinated for at least 45 minutes coupled with doubling the sauce to have enough to boil and serve as a dipping sauce.

Spicy Fried Green Tomatoes

I fried a 'test' tomato slice for taste and am glad I did because it was a bit bland for our taste so I added a tablespoon of Cajun seasoning and it was much more flavorful. Nice change from the flour/cornmeal breading.

Insanely Amazing Jalapeno Cheese Dip

We thought this was pretty good but not great. I am going to try again with fresh jalapenos, roasted green chilis and replace the Parmesan with a four cheese mixture from my deli hoping to add more depth to the taste. For us, sourdough bread is definitely the best for dipping.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

I like to follow the recipe exactly the first time I make a dish. This was just too sweet for us. We like to put coleslaw on our fried fish sandwiches and the sweet overpowered the fish a bit. Think I will stick with my Creamy Spiced Coleslaw on this site.

Fluffy Pancakes

Needs garlic---LOL--teasin'! We really enjoyed these pancakes and the only thing I would do different is like many other reviewers, would be to add vanilla.
