About this Cook
I am just a beginner - but one of my favorite things to do is read recipes to learn how to be a better, more healthy cook.
My favorite things to cook
I love breakfast, so naturally I am always on the look-out for the best breakfast recipe! Being a teacher, I have found it challenging to find quick and easy things to put in my lunch that is not loaded with carbs and sugar. So, that is my latest endeavor.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Some of my favorite memories were meal times in my home. I remember coming home from church on a Sunday to the smell of a pot roast my mom would make. I wasn't interested in cooking as a child (although I once tried to make muffins in the microwave when mom wasn't home) but as an adult I will call her in a panic for that "one recipe" she made.
My cooking triumphs
Probably my mom's chili with a tablespoon of sugar. Im stealing her triumph.
My cooking tragedies
microwave muffins or how about burnt cookies - waiting in anticipation for all the effort I put in to making my cookies...and burning them.

Strawberry Romaine Salad II
loved it! my husband loves when i make it. i use more spinach and it tastes good with more nutrients. i just don't mix it in because no one likes soggy spinach!

No Time to Cook Chicken
Turned out great! I took others' advice and added some Monterey Chicken spice, salt, and pepper. I did add water to it + a can of mushrooms which made it really tasty! At the end I added broccoli and non-fat sour cream. The chicken fell apart and was very tender - but that only made the dish easier to serve.
