About this Cook
I am currently working as a cook at a 250 bed nursing home. I have 2 children, a son who is 18 and a daughter who is 15. I met my boyfriend, who is also a cook, on the internet 6 1/2 years ago and he moved here from California 5 years ago. We love to vacation and have been to 22 of our United States and DC.
My favorite things to cook
Soup...especially cream of potato and clam chowder.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas. I have 3 brothers and the more children there were the harder it became to cook, serve and clean up a big meal on Christmas. For the past 10 years or so we have been picking a theme, something simple and it gives us alot more quality time. Some of our themes have included Mexican (tacos), German (knockwurst & kraut) and last year was breakfast.
My cooking triumphs
Mom had always made Thanksgiving dinner and a couple years ago I decided I wanted to do it myself. I made everything from scratch...even the cranberry sauce and creamed corn with recipes I found here.
My cooking tragedies
When I was a teenager, I attempted to make rice pudding...cooked on the stove and I burned it so bad that my Dad took it...pot and all and buried it in the woods on our property.

Apple Crisp IV
I cant imagine how anyone could give this recipe anything other than 5 stars. I served this at a luncheon and everyone loved it. The "crisp" was crispy and the apples were moist and delicious. This is the only apple crisp I will EVER make again. Thank you for this wonderful recipe.
