I am currently working as a cook at a 250 bed nursing home. I have 2 children, a son who is 18 and a daughter who is 15. I met my boyfriend, who is also a cook, on the internet 6 1/2 years ago and he moved here from California 5 years ago. We love to vacation and have been to 22 of our United States and DC. Soup...especially cream of potato and clam chowder. Christmas. I have 3 brothers and the more children there were the harder it became to cook, serve and clean up a big meal on Christmas. For the past 10 years or so we have been picking a theme, something simple and it gives us alot more quality time. Some of our themes have included Mexican (tacos), German (knockwurst & kraut) and last year was breakfast. Mom had always made Thanksgiving dinner and a couple years ago I decided I wanted to do it myself. I made everything from scratch...even the cranberry sauce and creamed corn with recipes I found here. When I was a teenager, I attempted to make rice pudding...cooked on the stove and I burned it so bad that my Dad took it...pot and all and buried it in the woods on our property.
