Easy Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: May 16, 2008
These muffins are really great!!!! My husband loved them. I didn't have coconut so I used a little drained crushed pineapple and it was a great alternantive. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. This will be the only one I use from now on.

Fluffy Boiled Icing

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2008
What a great frosting. I did not use vanilla and quite frankly, I didn't miss it. The recipe was very accurate. I did need to add some powdered sugar to increase the thickness. Don't be afraid that it's not thick enough. If you try to ice your cake you will see that it just looks thin. It has the consistency of whipped cream. I can't see using this as a decorating icing. This was perfect for the cupcakes I made and the amount was enough to ice 26 average cupcakes. This is a perfect marshmallow icing and I sprinkled some coconut to half of the cakes. Thank you for this recipe. It was perfect.

My Pound Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2008
I didn't use cake flour (simply because I didn't have it.) and I used powwdered sugar instead. I also increased the baking powder to 2 tsp and added 1 tsp of salt. It was really moist and just perfect.

Every now and then you come across a recipe that instantly becomes tradition. This is one of those recipes. From now until the next generation, this recipe will be a part of our cookie tray on Christmas day. Thank you so much. In my husbands words..."Oh my God, they're flaky, buttery and decadent."

Pizza Dough I

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2007
Wow!!!! I really didn't think this was going to come out as good as it did. It sounded to quick and easy. It seemed as though the recipe did need more water than called for. I think I used 1.5 cups of water. That made a very soft dough that was easy to work with. I may never order a pizza again. From the time I started and finished my pizza it was probably 1/2hr. Next time, however, I think I will try this recipe with bread flour. Thank you so much for this great recipe.

Raspberry Squares II

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2007
They are wonderful. The only different thing I did was double the recipe as well as add a tsp. of salt. I find that salt really balances the flavor of all baked goods. Ok, so I did a couple of other things too. I added a little vanilla and only because I didn't have enough rasberry jam, I divided up the pan with rasberry, then apricot and finally a blueberry jam. The out come was 3 fantastic different cookies. Make sure to cut them small. They are incredibly rich.

Chocolate Ganache

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2006
I made this ganache with white chocolate instead. I used a vanilla extract w/ vanilla seeds in it. I was a little scared because I didn't know if it would work. I ended up mixing the ganache in a mixer. I did this because I am using it as a filling so I didn't care if I had air bubbles. It is beautiful. Thank you so much for your recipe.

Artichoke & Spinach Dip Restaurant Style

Very good. The only thing I did different was used the already diced garlic and that took away. I'm sure real roasted garlic makes it wonderful. Also, watch the brand of alfredo sauce. That makes a huge difference also. Thank you again for the recipe.

Old-Fashioned Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2006
This recipe is wonderful. The candy was thin, cripsy and perfect. The only draw back was that it was only sweet. I always imagined brittle to be more on the salty sweet side. If your looking for that effect, I suggest you use salted peanuts or add more salt. Other than that, it really is a wonderful recipe. 4 stars for me

Chocaroon Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2005
I thought this was good. I like the coconut center to be a little more cake like. This center is like eating a macaoon. Very chewy center. My children loved it. I also made this recipe into cupcakes, which were different and cute. Next time, I am going to use the recipe that is from scratch on this site. Although I'd still use the cakemix*makes it moist) I like the center much better. Trust me on that one.

No Fail Pound Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2005
I take my baking very serious. I'm usually a cake mix snob. I had to try this because I wanted to experiment. This was, surprizingly wonderful. I made mine alittle diff. because I didn't have some things on hand. I used oil instead of butter(I'm sure butter makes it better.) I omitted the lemon extract for 1/2 tsp of almond extract and 1 TBL of good van.(That's what gives pound cake the traditional lb.cake flavor.) Also, I only had french vanilla cake mix. I also used buttermilk instead of the 2/3c of water. You have to make this cake a day ahead to appreciate it. Do not eat it warm because it still tastes like cake mix. Trust me, next day!! I also wouldn't ice it or glaze it unless you like you cake super sweet. We found it was wonderful with a cup of coffee. This would make a great base for s.c coffee cake. I think I will use this as my new lb. cake recipe-because it is so easy. However, next time, I will use butter and butter cake mix. I think that prob. makes it! You can still use oil- it was still great! Just use butter flavored cake mix.
