About this Cook
I'm a 24 year old with a large extended family to cook for.
My favorite things to cook
I love vegetables, all things dairy, bacon goes on everything, and I deep fry more than I should.
My favorite family cooking traditions
First and foremost my favorite foodstuff made by my family are lumpia. My grandmother is half Filipino. She's passed on a tradition of making these filipino "eggrolls" that aren't just delicious but so much fun to make together. They disappear before they hit the table!
My cooking triumphs
I think the hardest thing I've ever attempted was a good cheesecake. I made my own gingersnaps for my crust first. Then made a pumpkin cheesecake that was an instant hit. I think it's what galvanized me as family chef. My quiche has also earned me renown. Best served hot!
My cooking tragedies
My attempt at souffle failed. I've also made some sad "end of the month" casseroles :)

Peachy Mustard Pork Chops
i stretch saying i tried this recipe because i had pork chops and honey mustard, but no peach preserves or lemon juice. i chopped up some canned apricots and used some of the syrup. i baked the chops sauce and all in the oven at 300 since it's cold out right now! this was delicious and i can't wait to get peach preserves. thank you for inspiring me to try changing my comfort food, i never don't make gravy with my pork chops :)

Banana Muffins II
I am so happy with this recipe! I thought it was a little simple at first... but what a great result! Muffins develop there own crunchy top which is to die for, so don't bother topping them with anything! I added a little bit of nutmeg and vanilla, but otherwise followed the recipe to the letter. Best hot, these muffins hit the spot. Trust that many more will be made. Thank you so much for posting this recipe!
