New Mexico Green Chile Breakfast Burritos

I wanted something different for breakfast this morning so I tried this recipe. These were wonderful. My husband ate two and that is unusual. I reduced the serving size to three because there is only the two of us. The only thing I did different was to use Ortega canned chillies because that is what I had on hand. I used my hand blender to smooth out the sauce because I don't like chunks of onion and thickened the sauce more. I will be making these again for sure.

Cherry Angel Food Cake

I have never made an angel food cake in my life because I thought they would be too difficult. This was delicious. I took it to a church function and it was gone in ten minutes. I am going to try this with different fruit. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Kay's Spaghetti and Lasagna Sauce

This was a great tasting sauce. I had a bunch of Roma tomatoes from my garden and I just put them in the food processor and used them instead of the canned tomatoes. I used the sauce to make lasagna and OMG it was incredible. I will be making this sauce from now on. Thanks for sharing.

Italian Sausage Soup

I doubled the recipe and took it to a church function. Everyone really enjoyed it. There was none left to bring home. I add some barley to it and used white beans. I will be making this again.

Kielbasa Bean Soup

I made a pot of this to take to a potluck tonight and everyone just raved a bout it. I left out the zucchini because I didn't have any and I sauteed the onion and celery in a little olive oil and then added the sausage to brown a little. I also added a teaspoon of coriander and cumin as some one else suggested. I will be making this again and again.

Old Fashioned Onion Rings

I was making hamburgers for dinner and I asked my husband what he wanted to go with them and he said onion rings. I said ok let me see if I can find a good recipe to make them. I found this recipe and made it exactly as stated. These are delicious. I have never tried making onion rings before. I will be making these often. My husband thought they were the best he has ever had. There are some left over and I am going to heat them up for lunch tomorrow just to see if they stay crispy like others have said. Thanks so much for this recipe. I didn't find it all that time consuming or messy to make. I put the flour and milk mixture in a flat bottomed bowl and it made it very easy to dip the onions using tongs. I used a shallow container for the bread crumbs and found it easier to just shake it side to side to coat instead of using the lid and shaking. It might have been my container too.

Classic Macaroni and Cheese

This was very good. I didn't have evaporated milk so I used some half and half. I cut the recipe in half because there are only two of us and it was cooked in 30 minutes. I will being making this again.

Rice Casserole

This turned out very good. I doubled the recipe to take to a potluck. I mad a few changes based on what I had on hand. I used brown rice cooked in chicken stock and I used low fat half and half instead of milk. I had some that I needed to use up. I used Monterey Jack cheese and added about a 2 tablespoons of feta cheese with tomato and basil. I also used Durkees Steak Seasoning. By using the steak seasoning and the feta cheese, this turned out to be a very flavorful casserole. Several people asked be for the recipe. I will be making this again.

Penne Pasta with Peppers

This is so good. I have made this twice now and I will be making it again and again. I used homemade whole wheat pasta and a can of diced tomatoes. The left overs are fantastic. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

PHILLY Chicken Alfredo Pesto Pasta

This was very good but it could use a little more seasoning. I used half butter and half olive oil to cook the chicken and I seasoned the chicken with chicken fajita seasoning. I used one cup fat free half and half and one cup 2% milk. I didn't have any Parmesan cheese but I had a three cheese blend that has Parmesan, Romano and Asiago in it. I added a dash of garlic powder but I forgot to add salt and pepper and I think that that made the difference. I will most definitely be making this again. I served it with homemade whole wheat spaghetti.

Fluffy Biscuits

I have never been able to make decent biscuits. Well that has all changed now with this recipe. I made it with butter instead of shortening and I only used 1- 1/2 teaspoons of sugar. They turned out great. My husband thought they were a bit too crumbly so next time I make them I am going to use butter and shortening. I won't be buying biscuits any more. Thanks for sharing this recipe

Strawberry Ice

This was really good and refreshing. The next time I make this I will cut down on the lemon juice. It was a tad too tangy for us. I am going to try this recipe when our cantaloupe and watermelon get ripe. Thanks for sharing this recipe.

Creamy Mushroom Pasta

I had made some homemade pasta with basil today ad used this sauce to go with it. It was very good. I gave it a four because I used canned mushrooms and white cooking wine because that is what I had on hand. I will definitely be making this more often. Thanks for ssharing this recipe.

Jazzed Up Couscous

This was very good. I used two Roma tomatoes because they were quite large and green scallions fresh out of the garden. Also I chopped up some fresh basil. I always use chicken broth to cook my couscous because it adds flavor to it. I used cheddar cheese because that is what I had on hand. I will be making this again.

Peppy's Pita Bread

I have always been a little leery of making pita bread but not any more. I made this today to take to a Superbowl party tomorrow along with some hummus. I doubled the recipe and used my tortilla press instead of a rolling pin. They puffed up just like in the picture. I was really surprised. I didn't have a paper bag so I used a damp towel and that softened them up. I just cut one open and there wasn't much of pocket and the flavor is lacking. I will give this a 5 for ease of the recipe but the lack of a pocket and flavor I have to give it a 3.

Crusty French Bread

The only thing I did different was to eliminate the second rising because of time constraints and I split it up into two loafs because I was making Philly sandwiches. I didn't find this to be too dense at all. I will be making this quite often to use for sandwiches.

Carrot-Topped Swiss Cube Steak

This is pretty good and it is a quick meal. The only thing I would do different next time is to make more sauce. Other than that it will be a go to meal when I don't feel like cooking.

Mrs Espy's Enchilada Sauce

I was going to make Chicken Enchilada Soup from this sight but I didn't have any enchilada sauce. I looked at what was on this sight and decided to give this one a try. It was great!!! I will never buy enchilada sauce again. Not only was this good but it was so easy to make. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
