About this Cook
New mom to a beautiful baby girl. Even in the days after she was just born, I HAD to cook. Nothing relaxes me more than chopping vegetables. Brainless but, you have to concentrate!
My favorite things to cook
Baking, baking, baking...BUT, I do everything and LOVE it all!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Holidays - hands down. Big turkey dinners are nothing but BLISS for me (and, I have now converted my husband!)
My cooking triumphs
Definitely my wedding cake. I had to make every layer twice (the first recipe fell for some reason) but, the end result was incredibly beautiful! Next to that, getting my hubbie into the kitchen - with confidence! He is now almost as experimental as I am (although he doesn't bake...)
My cooking tragedies
I rarely cook dinner with a recipe so every once in awhile there is a "non-keeper". Probably the single worst were the brussel sprouts at Thanksgiving 2005 - undercooked, tasteless...they were thrown! (Good thing I had 5+ other vegetables to choose from)

Thai Beef Noodle Salad
I was looking for a new use for zucchini and this was LOVELY. I ended up using ground beef and the flavour was good. Although I think my husband and I would have preferred the beef strips, our toddler ate the beef bits (success!). I quickly blanched my broccoli with the pasta and used the hot noodles and beef to slightly steam the rest of the vegetables. Next time I will add more vegetables.

Chocolate Sandwich Cookies II
I got this recipe long ago from a camp cook and when I found I lost the recipe I went looking...so glad I found it! Although I don't make these often, everytime I do I wonder why I don't. Try them frozen - they taste like an amazing ice cream sandwich.

Banana Crumb Muffins
This recipe may be worth 4 stars but, because it was reviewed so highly and I was disappointed, I am notching down one. It wasn't bad but, A-Number-1 Banana Cake from this site is better (note that I use that recipe for muffins as well as cake and I make it with more bananas and less buttermilk).
