Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2006
This was so easy! I love that these are all ingredients I always have on hand. Problem with the overpowering cream cheese taste? Add more parmesan.. I doubled the parmesan. Delicious and quick! Thanks

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

I guess I'm not in the majority, but I didn't like these very much.. the sugar was completely out of place... and that sugary taste.. just kinda stuck around even after a sip of water. I won't be making these again.

Meaty Spaghetti Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2006
Didn't add the sausages, celery, carrots, and mushrooms, bc I didn't have any (and carrots sounds out of place).. but this still turned out awesome. I used this in the Baked Ziti recipe on this site and what a combo! Loved it!

Caramels

Reviewed: Apr. 15, 2006
Mmmm... so good and so easy!! Maybe I just have bad luck finding a good thermometer, but I always use the cold water test. When I drop the mixture in cold cold water (mixture was actually quite thick), it hardened. Delicious taste! I cut the recipe in half and instead of using all corn syrup, I took the suggestion of another reviewer to use a little honey (1/4 and 1/8 c. corn syrup and 1/8 c. honey). Yum, thanks!

I'm not a big mustard fan, but this was delicious! So good in fact, I dug right into it without garnishing with salt, pepper, and lemon as suggested. Definitely will make again. Yum!

Pumpkin Bread IV

Mmmm...this-was-heavenly!! Rich, yummy pumpkin pie reincarnated in bread form. I will most definitely make this again. I cut the recipe in half and baked the bread in two mini-sized loaf pans and a regular. Yum. Great gift also.

Old-Fashioned Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2006
This was DIVINE! Nothing like the marshmallow/chips recipes. I'm not sure if I got the texture right, but mine was slightly soft (comparing this to the marshallow/chips fudge), but melted in my mouth. I calibrated my thermometer (way off! like 10-15 degrees), set it on low/med-low the entire time and it took approx. 20-25 or so min. to reach the softball/slightly firm ball stage (I was afraid it would be gooey). I let it cool for about 1-2 minutes, then stirred in vanilla/butter (cut into cubes). Beat it mercilessly until it lost its sheen (3-5 minutes...), then threw in walnuts and beat it a little more. Turned out excellent.. hope this helps some first-time real fudge makers like me! Thanks!! ***Forgot to add that it's a good idea to double the recipe or use a smaller dish, if you'd like your fudge to turn out like the picture.***

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies

I could not believe how easy it was to make this! Not the same texture as the traditional chewy peanut butter cookie, slightly grainy, but still yummy!

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2006
Mmmm.. perfect comfort food. At first, I wasn't sure if I should bake it in a loaf pan or shape it in a loaf and bake it in a bigger pan.. I did the latter and I'm glad I did so that the meatloaf wouldn't swim in the fat/juice. I took the suggestion to cut down on the milk to 1/2 cup, cut brown sugar slightly, and spread ketchup on top. If you squirt the ketcup out from the bottle in a criss-cross design, the loaf looks more appetizing. Overall, I loved it.. the brown sugar on the bottom was a great touch. Thanks for the recipe!!

Restaurant Style Egg Drop Soup

My mom used to make this when I was sick. I added quite a bit more ginger (threw in chunks of ginger root, but don't forget to pull them out when you're done!), added sugar (my mom always did), and more cornstarch to make it thicker. Thanks for the recipe!

Easy Biscuit Mixture

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2006
Very easy. Very inexpensive and convienient substitute to Bisquick mix in other recipes. Although, it would have been nice to include how to make just plain ol' biscuts using this recipe. I used a little over 1/2 cup of buttermilk and 1/2 cup whole milk to make dinner biscuts. Turned out nice and fluffy, although a little crumbly. Next time, I will do the same, but add a little melted butter to hold biscut together and add a little extra buttery flavor. Great recipe though!

Chicken and Bow Tie Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2006
Was delicious, however I added ground cayenne pepper with the garlic to give it a little something extra. The sauce was way to thick and chunky, so I added 1/2 or so of milk to smooth it out a bit. Also, didn't have chive/onion cream cheese, so I added chopped green peppers. Overall, was very tasty with the additions. Thanks!

Baked Pork Chops I

These were good! I used regular bread crumbs instead of Italian, but it still turned out great. Do not use the thin slices of boneless porkchops because they turn out chewy. Thanks for the recipe!
