About this Cook
I'm a college student that has been learning how to cook for the past couple years. I love to cook for other people, especially my lovely boyfriend Drew. I would cook for my crazy gato Aphro, but as all other crazy cats are, she's content just being crazy.
My favorite things to cook
Practically everything! I started out baking, but have progressed to pastas, ethnic/cultural foods, meatloaf, I love trying new things! I do have a mild obsession with pasta though now that I think of it =)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom doesn't cook by recipes. She makes wonderful, healthy chinese food that I would like to someday replicate.
My cooking triumphs
Everytime something I make isn't burnt, gooey.. just kidding! Any time someone comments on how delicious my food is =) I've recently conquered yeast breads! They used to be in the category below (Tragedies), but I've finally been able to make delicious bread!
My cooking tragedies
When I was little, I undercooked an egg, so I threw it in the microwave...SPLAT! Poured steaming hot caramel on wax paper.. ick. Can't do cake, it's either burnt or sinks in the middle. I also can't decorate sugar cookies for the life of me.. why? Oh there's more...

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III
I upped the cocoa powder to 1 cup as suggested by other reviewers and that's the only change I made--delicious! Yum, yum, yum! This was perfect! Not too sweet, moist, and super easy! I will definitely make this over and over again. Thank you!

Rich Chocolate Frosting
I cut this recipe in half and it was plenty to frost a two layer 9" cake. The frosting was really, really rich--duh, as indicated by the title. Next time, I may use this to just use in between layers, but to frost an entire cake with it was just a bit much. Also, it didn't seem to pipe very well, but I could have added to much milk. Still very, very good!

Ten Clove Garlic Marinade
We halved the recipe and used pounded chicken breasts. Marinated them for half an hour, then broiled them in the oven for 10-15 minutes... delicious! Thank you for this great marinade, I can't wait to try it on steak--yum! Oh, and I'd like to add that while it may seem that 10 cloves of garlic a bit much, it didn't taste that way! Thanks again!
