Pumpkin Soup

I followed the recipe exactly and it is excellent. However, I do agree with cutting down the pepper a bit. Also, the roasting time given is not sufficient to get the vegetable done. I t results in what one reviewer called crunchy soup. So roast longer. Other than that, it's a very tasty soup with crusty buns on a cold fall day!

Chocolate Orange Fondue

Fantastic fondue. I served it at my book club meeting with many different types of fruit and some shortbread. I used the darkest chocolate I could find (Lindt 85% cocoa). The combination of the sweet fruit and the orange/bitter of the dark chocolate was outstanding. For me, milk chocolate would have ruined this recipe. I wouldn't change a thing. As an added benefit, the darker the chocolate, the better it is for you health-wise.

Banana Nut Bread II

I don't think I would use the bread machine for this next time. It wasn't done and I had to take it out and finish it in the regular oven anyway. Tasted great though, once it was done.

Chocolate Zucchini Bread II

This is an incredible loaf. My sons saw me putting the shredded zuccnini in it and vowed they weren't going to eat any, until they tasted it. I took the second loaf to work to share with colleagues. That lasted about as long as it took to slice it. Definitely a keeper for me. The only thing I changed was that I used half all purpose flour and half whole wheat flour.

Slow-Cooked German Short Ribs

Very tasty but also very rich. I skimmed as much of the grease off of the top of the sauce as I could before mixing in the flour. And I made rice instead of mashed potato to serve it over. Good comfort food to have once in a while but if you're a healthy foods, lean meats person, you'll want to steer clear of this one.

Indian Style Sheekh Kabab

Great recipe. I left out the mint because my husband hates it. I did make a sauce with yogurt, garlic, chopped onions and chopped cilantro that really added to the dish, I thought. Love the flavours. Did some grilled eggplant and basmati rice and pitas on the side. Great dinner. A little different from the usual! I'd definitely make it again.

Easy Paella

This recipe is not as involved as the recipe seems. It is actually quite easy. And it's outstanding. I got rave reviews and will definitely make it again. I arranged it in a large flat paella dish and put steamed snap peas around the outer edge. Pretty as well as delicious!

Sesame Tilapia

Very, very nice recipe. We love the subtle flavor that sesame oil gives. A couple of things: I used that lemon pepper shake that you can buy for seafood rather than the Italian seasoning which I thought would clash with the sesame. Worked wonderfully. Also, I sprinkled toasted sesame seeds on the top. Be careful not to overcook and you've got a 5 star recipe!

Roast Leg of Lamb with Rosemary

I'll never make roast lamb any other way from now on. This recipe was amazingly delicious. I had guests for dinner and they all proclaimed it the best lamb they had ever had. Serve with those little red potatoes, cut in half and roasted.

Easy Pork Roast

Excellent recipe. The pork is melt-in-your-mouth tender. I substitued greem onions for shallots since I didn't have any and I omitted the beans because I just didn't want beans in the sauce. That didn't affect it at all. Will definitely make this again, perhaps next in the slow cooker.

Easy Quiche

For something to do with leftover ham, this recipe really fills the bill. I followed it exactly. From turning up his nose when told what we were having for breakfast, my 15 year old son asked for seconds and had another piece for lunch! I'll definitely hang on to this recipe. It's almost more like a frittata than a quiche with the biscuit mix right in the recipe but it's excellent whatever you want to call it!

Baba Ghanoush

Lemon Poppy Seed Loaf

Excellent. I follwed the recipe exactly except that I added a little lemon extract just to make sure it was lemony enough. Tasty and moist. One loaf stayed home and disappeared, one came to the office and disappeared just as quickly!

Spicy Mango Salad

I used thinly sliced red onion instead of shallots. Instead of red pepper flakes, I used thin slivers of sweet red peppers. The tastes complemented one another beautifully and it was a very pretty salad also!

This was far too sweet for my taste even though I halved the amount of cherries in it. If I make it again, I'll omit the cherries entirely and try to give it a more citrus taste.

Chocolate Lovers' Favorite Cake

With all the five star ratings on this one, I thought I would love it (and I too am a chocolate lover). It was extremely dense, not really a cake at all but more like eating a chocolate bar. It was tasty but I wouldn't say I was blown away and can't wait to make it again.

Moroccan Lentil Soup

This soup is outstanding! I put a couple of chicken breasts into the soup and let them cook there to take in the flavor. Then I took them out to cool and chopped them up and returned them to the soup. I recommend that if you want a meat soup. Excellent with or without, though.
