About this Cook
Born in San Fransico, raised in Michigan, lived in Houston Texas 23 years and now in Ga. Love to read, cook and crossword and variety puzzles.Cooked and helped manage cafe in Tx. for many years. Enjoy various regional cooking recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Dinners and entertaining. I love to cook hot soups and a variety of salads. Every so often I like to make something out of the norm. Unusual, that noone has had.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Raised with a lot of German/ Polish/Russian cooking and hearty winter meals are ones I like to prepare most.Lots of veggies.
My cooking triumphs
Everyone who has tried my chicken fruit salad requests the recipe.Salt-free and low in carbs but you would NEVER know it.
My cooking tragedies
Years ago I made homemade doughnuts for my sons cub scout pack. They were beautifully golden brown and the aroma was devine. The looks on the boy's faces were one of surprise. I forgot the sugar and the doughnuts were bland.

Cilantro, Avocado, Tomato, and Feta Salad
FANTASTIC!! I added some bowtie pasta and black olives per another suggestion and it was a light, but satisfingly refreshing meal!! Takes some time to dice eveything but well worth it as it is requested by friends so often. Add and delete as you wish as it really is a forgiving recipe and one that you will be so Glad you made!!
