About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
Appetizers, Soups, anything Italian or Mexican
My favorite family cooking traditions
"Healthy-ing" a recipe - anything to make it lighter and better for you
My cooking triumphs
Probably my crab cakes and seafood bisque I made for a dinner party a few years ago. It was a fabulous party with fabulous food. It was the first time with each recipe, which is a HUGE gamble, but both came out GREAT.
My cooking tragedies
My senior year in college, I was having some friends over for dinner and I had been making sauce for spaghetti and meatballs ALL DAY. Just before everyone was to be there, I knocked the pot off the stove. I was devastated, but had just enough time to clean up the mess and run to the store to buy spaghetti sauce. Oh well. Glad it wasn't something impossible to replace at the last minute.

Chicken Tikka Masala
This is one of my favorite recipes. It is so easy and so delicious. I don't change a thing about it because it is so good just the way it is. I also think that the oven broiler method is still really good. It doesn't give the same smokey flavor as the grill, but it is still delicious.

Peanut Butter Kiss Cookies
I really enjoyed these and thought they were the best I've had thanks to the review that suggested doing 1/3 confectioners sugar (so as not to have the granular texture), and 1/3 brown sugar (to keep them moist and chewy). Definitely a keeper.

Kerri's Holiday Punch
The best punch, hands down. I have served this at two parties now without a drop left over. It is a great compliment to the Champagne Peach Punch found on this site as well because you cover both bases - liquor and wine.
